America's Prettiest Towns, My Top 10 Favorites

America is a beautiful country and we have many beautiful cities to explore. I have traveled quite often and have been given the opportunity to view some of the most breath taking views one can imagine. I have compiled a list of my favorite top ten prettiest cities in America for your viewing.

1.) The number one prettiest city in America to me is The Dalles, Oregon area. Dalles is beautiful with many natural sceneries to view. From the Columbia River Gorge to the high mountains and the trains that go along side the mountains. This city has many old architectural buildings which are still in use.

Dalles, Oregon has many homes on top of the bluff in town which over looks the Columbia River. They have wild mushrooms and asparagus growing on these mountains as well as pansies. No matter where you travel in The Dalles, Oregon area you are sure to see some of the most beautiful mountains and hills of flowers you can imagine.

Dalles, Oregon is just off highway 84 and close to Bend Oregon and Dufur Oregon. Goldendale Oregon is not that far and within the city limits of The Dalles you'll be able to capture many locals out fishing and hiking.

2.) My second choice would have to be White Salmon, Washington. This town is small but very quaint. It has a small grocery store as well as beautiful homes on top of the bluff over looking the Columbia River Gorge. This town is also home to many great restaurants in the area.

White Salmon is just about five miles from Hood River, Oregon where you can go and try out wind surfing. There is camping and fishing as well as hiking in the area. You will find many stores to shop at while visiting the White Salmon area as well as the most friendliest people around.

3.) Seattle Washington is a beautiful city where one can locate the Seattle Mariners ball field. This city is beautiful with it's many arenas as well as sailing opportunities. Some of the structures of the buildings in this town are absolutely gorgeous.

When someone thinks of Seattle Washington their minds quickly may go to the big screen movie with Tom Hanks, Sleepless in Seattle. For this is where this film was shot and you'll see in this town some of the homes are located off the shore line on docks, just like the movie.

Seattle is a big town that offers shoppers many choices to choose from. You can walk up and down the streets and window shop then grab a cup of Seattle's finest coffee and rest a bit. You may wish to check out some of the local restaurants while visiting, Seattle has allot of various choices for any ones taste.

4.) Molalla, Oregon is a small town that has more charm than I've seen in quite awhile. This town has allot of class and the locals make you feel very welcome while visiting here. They have a great many restaurants to choose from, such as Chinese, Mexican and burgers.

Molalla, Oregon has the prettiest pieces of land I've ever viewed. Allot of farm land or Christmas tree farms are along side the road as well as orchards of many types of fruit. There is a bowling alley there as well as a library and playground area for kids in the town to get wet under the sprinklers.

5.) Stone Mountain, Georgia is close to Atlanta Georgia but a whole lot smaller in size. This city is beautiful with having it's on park that has a huge mountain of stone with carvings of historic people on the side of the mountain. At night you can sit on the lawn and catch a laser show on the side of the mountain.

The town of Stone Mountain has many neat shops to visit as well as restaurants. There is much history here as well for those visiting the area you might want to consider going by the town's welcoming center and gathering information on sites to visit in the town.

This town has many grocery stores as well as fast food services. They also have a super Target store and other major department stores in the area. It is close to the freeway so if you need to drive highway 78 to another location you are right beside it as well as highway 20.

6.) Helen, Georgia is a city that is close to Atlanta Georgia and surrounding towns. This town has many attractions for all ages. Their buildings are made to replicate Bavarian village homes. They have a golf course to play putt putt and they have a small themed park for kids.

This city is well known for it's many tourist year round. With the natural rivers and streams as well as waterfalls any one visiting will always come back for more year after year. They have a haunted house and musical shows here as well as some of the finest seafood and steaks at Paul's On The River restaurant located in the center of town.

They have many things to do here in Helen Georgia from, tubing, horseback riding, shopping, eating, hiking, nature trails as well as several museums. The live music gets you in the mood as you stroll the cobble streets in this town and why not take that special someone of yours on a carriage ride for only five dollars.

7.) Cleveland, Georgia is just a short drive for those living in or around the vicinity of Atlanta Georgia. this town has many options for those visiting as well as one of the best kept secrets. The secret I found was a resort just miles up the road in town that has cabins and pools as well as restaurants and hiking and waterfalls.

This place is a god send for those looking to get away from it all and have a nice quiet time, sitting and listening to cows and horses and the streams that are nearby. You can try out Baby Land in town which is home to the cabbage patch dolls.

This town is small and as you drive along the road toward Cleveland, Georgia make sure to take advantage of the numerous fruit and vegetable stands along side the road. This is where you'll find true jewels of home made jellies, jams, pickles, cider, and gather up boiled peanuts or apples to take back home with you.

The views of the mountains on the way to Cleveland, Georgia is gorgeous but especially more breath taking in the fall when the leaves are changing colors. This is when you will be able to take some awesome photos of the leaves changing.

8.) Gulf Shores, Alabama is home to many. If you love the beach and want a place to get away from it all then come to Gulf Shores. They have numerous go cart tracks as well as theme parks for children of all ages. The beach is beautiful and has white sand for those toes to walk in.

Some of the best food you'll ever eat is in Gulf Shores, Alabama. they have numerous restaurants to choose from such as fast food or some sit down on the deck while watching the tide roll in. You will not go lacking for seafood while visiting Gulf Shores, Alabama that's for sure.

Gulf Shores, Alabama has many choices for lodging, from hotels to houses to rent as well as many condos on and off the beach. Their located within walking distance to the beach and shopping outlets. Take a stroll down the beach at night or a bike ride along side the beach.

9.) Panama City Beach, Florida is home of the famous Boar's Head restaurant that I love dinging at while visiting here. This restaurant is located in town and has some of the best fried grouper you'll ever put in your mouth. There is many great restaurants here in town for those of you looking for something cold and refreshing, stop by one of many of the local pubs and grab a frozen cocktail.

The beaches here are breath taking as well as the views. You can shop, dine, swim, sail, parachute, go to theme parks, go cart ride, rent a bike and go for a ride or simply set by the pool all day or lay out on the beach. let's not forget about the fishing that's available here. You can go out on a chartered boat and grab some fishing while your here as well.

10.) Nashville, Tennessee is my last choice in the prettiest cities in America. This town is jumping with enthusiasm as well as excited guests. You can visit the Grand Old Opry while visiting here or take a ride down the river on a dinner boat.

You may also like to take a tour to the old Ryman Auditorium which is still open for tours daily. This town is not lacking in bars and dance locations. They also have many shops and restaurants to view. The town has a beauty all it's own and when you visit here you'll see why so many people come here every day to vacation.

    Of the ten you mention, I have only been to one (Seattle.) The list of places worth visiting grows and grows.... but the time I have to do those visits shrinks and shrinks!
