The first place to have film developed in Amherst Virginia is Wal-mart. They will develop most any camera prints. If you choose the one-hour photo development, you get your prints for fifteen cents. An eight by ten enlargement for $2.84 with the one-hour print. The one-hour collage print runs you nineteen cents a print. One-hour wallets are fifty-eight cents. A one-hour border at fifteen cents and with text runs $1.47. Family package runs $17.84 and the standard package is $6.82. You also have the option of submitting your prints on line and picking them up at the store within one hour. This makes it nice to only have to make one trip out instead up dropping off and picking up.
The second place to have film developed is CVS Pharmacy in Amherst Virginia. They can develop all cameras as well. Single prints run $7.99 and doubles run $10.99. An eight by ten enlargement will cost $6.99. A five by 7 collage will run about $1.69. The one-hour film development will be the same price on the prints as if you were doing it yourself. Therefore, in that aspect you do not save anything. An eleven-ounce ceramic mug with photo costs $11.99 and the T-shirt with photo is $14.99. The stainless steel travel mug with photo costs $19.99. Key chain with photo costs $14.99 and the tote bag with photo costs $19.99.
The third place to get film developed is in Lynchburg Virginia at Walgreen's. They can develop film from most cameras, memory sticks, multimedia cards, CD-Roms etc. Four by six prints up to fifty run twenty-nine cents a print, over fifty prints they are nineteen cents a print. The five by seven enlargements are $1.57 and the eight by ten enlargements are $2.99. Collages start at $3.99 and run up to $5.99. If you want to have, film developed onto a CD that costs $2.99.
These are just three of the local area businesses that develop film here in the Amherst Virginia and surrounding areas.
If you would like to have photos submitted on line and picked up at the store, my suggestion would be Wal-mart. I feel they have the best prices around.
