our world turns,
the darkened, the enlightened,
and passion burns.
He is branded, she is marked,
swirled between lines of varying art.
She bears a cross, and he cross-bones,
yet he could be an angel, hidden tears fall,
and her a bit devilish, though the voice small.
Her mark reflects symbols of her loves from the heart.
His brand is in wonderment of the worlds set apart.
She dangles a pendant, mother and child,
and lives her life quietly, gentle, and mild.
He wears a chain, ironic, a weight,
and lives his life objectively, carries a strength, a bit wild.
Yet amongst angels and devils,
whatever the view,
maybe love, sweet love,
is the heaven between the two,
swirled between lines of varying art,
below the surface, each finding the heart.
