Although we don't have any intention of getting a high definition television anytime soon, my husband and I wanted the best antenna we could afford. At sixty dollars, the antenna is the best either of us has ever purchased. The Amplified HDTV Indoor/Outdoor Antenna from Radio Shack is an excellent value giving reception quality very similar to that of cable television when paired with a digital converter box.
The Amplified HDTV Indoor/Outdoor Antenna from Radio Shack comes with all the equipment for its installation and mounting. Included in the package containing the antenna were a long coaxial cable, AC adapter, screws to anchor the antenna to the wall, wing nuts, a power inserter, a short coaxial cable, a swivel base, and an AC Adapter to assist in installation.
Installing this antenna is easy as it can be mounted to multiple places both indoors and out and is water and UV resistant. Start by making marks on the would-be location by using the antenna base like a stencil. Drill holes in the wall on each marked location; slide the mounting through each whole. Hold the mounting base against the wall and place a screw through each drilled hole in the base. Tighten each screw until the wall mount is in place. Place the antenna on the wall mount.
Connect the antenna to your converter box. After that connect the converter box to the back of your television, turn on your TV and then your converter box follow the instructions for your box in regard to programming it. You may have some trouble with reception at first, but, since the mounting base swivels and can be maneuvered, adjust until the picture becomes clear.
The Amplified HDTV Indoor/Outdoor antenna by Radio Shack is a very good product to purchase. It would work excellently to help you receive HDTV signals or digital signals. Other than the occasional break in sound or pixilation, this product is excellent. I recommend the product to make use of your digital converter box worthwhile. Try this product it will be well worth the money and save you from buying products that don't work as well. If you have a limited basic cable service you may even be able to cancel it and receive the channels in that line up for free which helps save money in the long run.
