With Video Links

John Myers
Amusement Today is one of the leading sources of news and happenings from around the amusement park industry. A leading trade publication, the magazine and its website are one of the primary sources of information for those working in the theme park industry. For the past 13 years, the magazine has been giving out awards for the best of the best in the amusement industry. The Golden Ticket Awards are given in a variety of categories and are calculated via an international poll of industry professionals.

On September 11, 2010, industry professionals gathered at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia to witness this annual red carpet event. Awards were given out for the top steel and wooden coasters, the best overall amusement parks, best shows, and a whole lot more.

Another popular category of Golden Ticket Awards is in the field of traditional wooden coasters, or "woodies." Each year, amusement parks vie for the prestige of having their coasters named to the list of the top twenty five. Here's a look at this year's winners:

And I'm dizzy again! Hey, with my daughter and grands living in Erie, I go to Waldameer often. They just built a new coaster last year over the road. Is that the wooden one you've listed here?

Great information for coaster fans. I really don't like riding the old wooden coasters though, too bumpy for me. They are amazing structures though.
