Amway is helping relief organizations to get into Haiti and getting cash donations by Amway, its employees and distributors. Amway donated $100,000 right away to the American Red Cross and SOS Children's Villages. Amway has also donated 4 corporate jets to assist in getting aid to Haiti. 10,000 personal hygiene kits have been given through International Aid.
Amway has been trying to fly in nurses, doctors, surgeons, physician's assistants and anyone else medically trained on a daily bases. The corporate jets have medical personnel and medical supplies, some Amway products and vaccines. The jets, Amway's Gulfstream, are able to fly non-stop to Haiti and back without fueling. The only problem is getting clearance through the government for landing. There is such a backlog of planes trying to get In that making daily flights have been impossible.
Amway is getting flooded by medical personnel that are volunteering to go to Haiti to help out. Getting the supplies and donations is not the problem currently. The holdup is being able to get in and out of the country. Amway already has a program in place to help either locally or worldwide to aid in any type of disaster relief. Amway has train staff that knows how to implement such an undertaking.
Amway is also matching any donations given through them. All you need to do is go to their website to make a contribution. A donation can range from $10 to $25. Here is where Amway will take your donations. Make sure you donate through the Haiti Earthquake links. Amway may get some bad press at times but when it comes to giving back they never blink an eye. Thanks Amway for stepping up to help the 2010 Haiti earthquake relief and making our community proud to have you here.

Post a CommentInteresting. Thanks for the update.
Good to know Amway is not the evil empire some folks make them out to be. Four jets, huh? That's pretty generous. Thanks for the article.
plntpolice, I was an Amway distributor also in the early 70s. Oh yes Amway is definitely still around and prospering. Amway almost owns Grand Rapids.
Good to hear this; I didn't even realize they were still around. Like a lot of other people, I tried selling Amway in the '70s, and failed to make my fortune, but I hadn't heard anything about the company in years.
