Amy Winehouse Dead at 27 years old

As reported by Today staff and wire British singer Amy Winehouse was found dead Saturday in her London home. The 27 year old Winehouse was shot to fame across the British as well as American pop charts with her combination of soul and jazz contemporary music, and made more fame through the media for so many crazy antics that deemed her self-destructive.
Winehouse was noted for her beehive hairstyle almost everywhere. One thing that brought more notoriety than many of her fans cared for was the addictions that plagued her life as she rose to stardom. According to a publicity spokesman Chris Goodman the death of Winehouse came as a terrible shock to those close to the 27 year old singer.
There are no details released as of yet to the findings or cause of death of the British singer, but according to her spokesman the family will release a statement when they are ready.
For myself I feel it is such a tradgedy to see someone so young pass away especially one who was so gifted a singer and musician as Winehouse. Self-destruction is becoming more and more a repeated ritual with younger stars rising to fame overnight.
