Amy Winehouse was 'œbeyond Help' when Paramedics Arrived

Winehouse's autopsy is said to take place within the next 24 hours. A spokesman for the late singer said: "Everyone involved with Amy is shocked and devastated. Our thoughts are with her family and friends. The family will issue a statement when ready." According to the Daily Mail, Amy was found dead at her home in London by emergency services at 3.54 pm. She was reportedly "beyond help" when the paramedics arrived. Once the news spread, dozens of fans gathered outside her home. For now, the police have qualified her death as unexplained but it is known that the 27-year-old singer had serious problems with drugs and alcohol. Police cordoned off the street in front of the singer's home. A black private ambulance arrived at 7:45 pm. Within minutes, law enforcement members carrying a body in a purple bag were seen leaving the house. A neighbor reported having heard screams coming from the house in the early hours of Saturday. He also revealed that he had seen the singer's grieving boyfriend, film director Reg Traviss, on the ground outside the house. According to the same source, two women later appeared in a black Mercedes and walked in and out of the house crying. Winehouse's father Mitch is expected to return from New York to the UK. He was scheduled to perform at a club on Monday. In a statement, Winehouse's U.S. record label said: "We are deeply saddened at the sudden loss of such a gifted musician, artist and performer. Our prayers go out to Amy's family, friends and fans at this difficult time." Amy Winehouse has been a favorite subject for tabloids, more famous for her scandals than her music. In 2007, she married Blake Fielder-Civil, in a surprise ceremony in Miami, Florida. On August 14, 2007, TMZ announced that Winehouse and her husband agreed to be hospitalized in a rehab to treat heroin and cocaine addictions. On the morning of August 23 the Daily Mail photographed her and her husband walking on the streets of London bloodied and injured. Amy and Blake divorced in September 2009. Recently the singer had voluntarily agreed to check herself into rehab. In May, Amy went to be treated at the Priory Clinic. However, last month, she had to cancel a European tour that proved disastrous. The singer was booed at a concert in Serbia during which she was unable to sing until the end. Three days before her death, as part of the iTunes Festival, Amy appeared on stage at a performance of her goddaughter Dionne Bromfield. After kissing her 14-year-old goddaughter, she danced with her. The soul diva then asked the public to purchase the album of her protege. A surprise appearance without scandal, which will remain her last public appearance before her death.
