Amy Winehouse's Husband Wants a Divorce

If their love can't make it, then whose can? According to People Magazine and UK's Daily Mail, Amy Winehouse's famously jailed husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, is currently seeking a divorce from his wife of just under two years. Rumor has it that Blake saw numerous photos of his wife and another man in St. Lucia. The photos were provocative and showed the two were more than just friends. Fielder-Civil is currently in a British prison after failing a recent drug test. Both he and Winehouse were also arrested at a Norwegian hotel for possession of marijuana in 2007.

Over the last few years, the media has watched in earnest as Winehouse spiraled into an alleged addiction to heroin and other drugs. Her parents have even made pleas to her fans not to buy her albums in an effort to sober her up and save her life. Winehouse, who entered rehab last January, alleges she is now clean and in love with 21-year-old actor Josh Bowman. As for Fielder-Civil, Winehouse has stated her marriage was built on drug use and she's now in love again and off drugs for good.

Fielder-Civil will seek a divorce based on evidence of his wife's adultery and presumably sue for millions. But it's yet to be seen whether or not his prison term and own drug use will interfere with the proceedings and potential outcome. As for Winehouse's new love, Bowman is an up and coming actor and has reportedly denied that he's actually dating the singer.

Winehouse's debuted her first album in 2003, called Frank, and achieved both commercial and critical success in Britain. But it wasn't until her 2006 album, Back to Black, that put her on the charts with 6-Grammy wins. Unfortunately, her immediate success seemed to cause a downward and severe spiral into drug and alcohol addiction. In 2008, it was reported that she might have signs of emphysema and irregular heartbeat brought on by smoking cigarettes and crack cocaine.

Fielder-Civil, a former video production assistant, was a self-proclaimed grammar school dropout and moved to London at 16-years old. Winehouse seemed to be in a co-dependent relationship with her husband, often telling the press that she was nothing without him and couldn't beat drugs without him by her side. She must have had a change of heart, because The Daily Mail is reporting that she has just forgotten she's even married and is in love with her new beau. Hopefully Winehouse can stay clean and put her addictions behind her. It seems unlikely she could stay married to Fielder-Civil without slipping back into the dangerous and addictive habits they shared throughout their marriage.
