Amy's Black Bean Burritos, Review

Katri Marson
When I found out that my local Von's had Amy's burritos on sale for only $1.69 each I almost did a cart wheel. I don't usually find them that cheap anymore. I was even happier to find that they had the black bean variety, which is my favorite.

The Amy's Black Bean Burrito is organic, vegan and full of flavor. The tortillas are made from whole wheat and they are made by Amy's Kitchen. I really hope Amy's starts marketing just their tortillas one day. I would definitely buy them. They are my favorite tortillas I have ever tried. Inside the burrito is filled with black beans, kidney beans and vegetables, like corn and broccoli. It even has potatoes in it. All surrounded in a rich flavorful sauce.

The directions say to wrap it up in a paper towel and microwave it for 1 and a half minutes on each side. I have tried that several times but it gets stuck to the paper towel making it a bit messier and I am not a big fan of that. I have a habit of cooking it a way you probably should. I open the package and then just cook it in the plastic package. I know it is probably not good health wise to cook it in the plastic it is wrapped in but it is quick, easy and the tortilla doesn't stick.

Each burrito has 290 nutritious calories and 8 grams of fat. It also has 5 grams of fiber and 7 grams of protein. The sodium level is common for a frozen food at 680 milligrams. The ingredients are all natural, vegan and none of the ingredients are genetically engineered..

If you find Amy's Black Bean Burritos for under $2 I say snatch them up and run to the checkout, that is unless they are at my local store, then please leave them for me. Either way, under $2 or not they are probably the best packaged burritos you can get.
