An Affordable, Effective Acne-Fighting Regime

For Frustrated Users of ProActive and Like Products

James D
Acne is one of the biggest causes of self-consciousness among young people. In addition, a great majority of teenagers suffer from acne of varying degrees. Since the conception of ProAactive skin care solutions, a slew of 3-step wonder products have appeared on the market, however these methods have proven quite ineffective for many consumers. Fortunately, there is an easier and even more effective method of dealing with acne without buying these expensive products. Following this three-step solution with the following products will not only effectively and rapidly eliminate acne for most users, but it will save you money.

Keep in mind that most drug stores or grocery stores carry generic brands of the following products. These not only save money, but also are just as effective as their more expensive counterparts. Look for the product listed below, then find it's generic counterpart to avoid unnecessary expenses.

Products:

1. Cetaphil Face Wash. For persons with oily skin, "normal" Cetaphil face wash should be used. For those with easily irritated skin it is best to use the sensitive skin formula. Always avoid using products that are labeled "for oily skin". One of the reasons ProActive and like products often don't work is because they are too harsh and over-stimulate the pores on the face.

2. Garnier Nutritioniste Skin Renew Face Moisturizer. Because this product is new to the market, there may not be a generic brand yet. For a cheaper alternative, Nieva Sensitive Skin Face Moisturizer for Men is a great alternative (for women too!). Either way, make sure your moisturizer has a light SPF (usually around 15) and be sure that it is unscented and oil-free.

3. Clearasil Facial Scrub, or any generic or like facial scrub. Again, be sure that the face wash has no added scents. A sensitive skin formula is again the most ideal.

Once the listed items have been purchased, follow these simple steps to help eliminate and prevent acne.

1. Once per week, wash face with facial scrub. Choose a specific time each week to use the product, for example every Sunday night. Use product according to manufacturer specification. Once face has dried completely apply face moisturizer as directed on product.

2. Every morning and night (except for once weekly application of face scrub) wash face with Cetaphil or generic Cetaphil and warm water.

3. Immediately following washing of face, apply moisturizer to face.

Finally, avoid using super-strength spot-treatment acne products that contain benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid. When enacting a low maintenance, sensitive acne-fighting regime such as this one, it is important not to over-dry or medicate the face.

Following these simple steps may help eliminate and prevent acne in an affordable manner. This method may be severely helpful for frustrated users of ProActive or like products who have found no ease of symptoms from such products.
