An Alien's Stellar View of Christmas

Hannah
Well it's been awhile since Cosmos and Nebuli have been observing Earth, but they just couldn't resist taking a look at our holy day we call Christmas.

Cosmos: Well Nebuli I must say I have truly missed observing these humans, they always seem to have something interesting to observe.

Nebuli: This is true my friend. One can never say humans are boring. Confusing maybe, but never boring.

Cosmos: So Nebuli, What is this day all about that they call Christmas?

Nebuli: You know after many years of observing this season they call Christmastime, I truly am not sure.

Cosmos: Why is this Nebuli? You are smartest among us.

Nebuli: It seems that not all humans celebrate Christmas, and even the ones that do, can't seem to agree how it is supposed to be celebrated.

Cosmos: Yes, the true nature of the humans, they don't agree on much, and even when they do, each one thinks there way is the right way.

Nebuli: This is true. For some reason this seems to be a shortcoming among most of them.

Cosmos: So, back to this day they call Christmas.

Nebuli: Well, some humans believe that many years ago a child was born that was the son of who we call our God. His name is Jesus Christ. Each year on Christmas Day they celebrate his birth and give thanks to God for sending his son who became their Lord and Savior.

Cosmos: Wow, that is stellar! So, is it time to observe the season of Christmas?

Nebuli: Yes Cosmos, let's turn on the monitor and take a look.

Cosmos: It seems like the humans are going into a lot of buildings and coming out with lots of parcels. Why do they all look so unpeaceful, and hurried?

Nebuli: It seems that most humans that do celebrate Christmas purchase many gifts to give each other on Christmas Day. What I have never understood is what a human in a red suit has to do with this man they call Jesus Christ?

Cosmos: Now I am really confused.

Nebuli: I as well, Cosmos. From observing many hundreds of Christmases, I still cannot figure it all out. Christmas is supposed to be a mass for Christ. That's where the word Christmas comes form, Christ-Mass,

Cosmos: So what you are saying is more and more over the years it has become about buying gifts and a large man in red garments.

Nebuli: Yes, Cosmos that is what I am saying.

Cosmos: How sad that is, that such a miracle should be changed into something so ordinary.

Nebuli: Well Cosmos, you should know by now my young friend that humans are quite contrary, and sometimes don't keep special that which is sacred.

Cosmos: Oh, I do know that Nebuli. I remember when we observed the day they call Easter. Most of the humans were so involved with long eared animals they had no time for the true meaning of Easter.

Nebuli: There is one bright star in this mess we call humanity, and that is the ones that still believe. The ones that still hold Christmas sacred, and holy. The ones that not only believe on Christmas, Day but also celebrate Christ's birth all year long. The ones that know he came to save us, and make this a better world. These humans seem to have a very full heart who try and share that with all. They seem to be the most giving, loving people in all of the Universe. Yes Cosmos, there is still a lot of hope for Humanity as long as we have believers. And the best thing of all is there are more and more believers as time goes by.

Cosmos: That is truly miraculous. Perhaps we too should learn more about this man they call Jesus Christ. He sounds like someone we could love too!

Nebuli: Cosmos, you are truly the smartest student I have ever taught. Yes, Jesus Christ seems to be someone that we all could love, no matter where we come from or who we are!

May God Bless Everyone this Holy season of Christmas, and in the coming New Year.

Please keep our troops safe, and may God guide our new President toward a nation full of Faith, Hope, and Good Will!
