An All-Star Run? - Amazing Reality Stars on CBS

February 18, 2007 will round out CBS's All-Star obsession. It worked for Survivor, it worked for Big Brother, will it work for The Amazing Race? This time, CBS isn't taking any chances - the eleventh season of The Amazing Race will feature some truly famous reality faces.

Pairs of people, in teams of two, will race around five different continents in only twenty-eight days, competing for one million dollars and our viewing minutes. Past seasons of The Amazing Race have featured all kinds of interesting teams, and CBS was happy to ask the public's favorites back for another run at the big bucks.

Returning to CBS, the All Star racers will include Kevin and Drew from season one, Teri and Ian from season three, Dustin and Kandice (who were in it to win it only last season), and two teams from the seventh season. It's the inclusion of these four that will have viewers tuning in, and that's exactly the reaction CBS is banking on. With so many new reality shows to choose from, former CBS favorites like The Amazing Race are drawing fewer viewers.

But this season will feature none other than CBS reality darlings Rob and Amber Mariano. No All Stars reality hit would really be complete without the famous couple, who had to cut their own reality show Rob & Amber: Against the Odds rather short in order to join the cast. But what's another million to the winners of CBS's Survivor: All Stars? For the Marianos, it's often more about the competition than the reward - during the seventh season, tricky Rob single-handedly changed the way the Race was run. And his antics will no doubt provide all kinds of fabulous fodder for water cooler gossip in the upcoming eleventh season. To compete with Rob and Amber, former season 7 winners Uchenna and Joyce will also be part of the Amazing cast. Remember, it was Uchenna and Joyce who barely beat Rob and Amber (then engaged, as it was prior to their two-hour CBS special wedding event) for the million-dollar prize the first time around. Will they outrun the Marianos again?

There's only one way to find out, and that's to watch. With so much drama, acting, racing, and reality stars coming as part and parcel of the Amazing all-star package, if you don't tune in you'll be among the few. After all, how can anyone miss the chance to see Boston Rob and his beautiful wife in action? The man is a master at tricking opponents, getting his way, and winding up on top.

To catch Rob, Amber, and a whole host of amazing reality stars, tune into CBS's The Amazing Race: All Stars. It all starts Sunday night.
