An Angel in a Box?

Angel Food Ministries

There is a little known ministry offered in 29 states in the US. This ministry is offered to everyone, whether or not the person actually needs it, but is designed to help out those in need. This is the Angel Food Ministries, and its name can really mean a lot.

The Angel Food Ministries offers a great way to save money on groceries. For just $25, you can get a box filled with everything from meats and vegetables to bread mixes and desserts. The value of the groceries you receive for just $25 is actually around $50.

The meats are a nice quality, and they must pass inspection before being delivered to Angel Food customers. In fact, all items must meet quality inspections, or they will be replaced by something that does pass inspection. While some items are off brands or little known brands, there are some name brand items in the box as well.

The menu changes each month, so you are offered a variety of items without having to worry about growing tired of the same old thing. A list of included items can be found on the Angel Food website. This menu not only offers the $25 main box, but also offers multiple extra packages that can be purchased after purchasing the original $25 package.

The extra packages are all great deals as well. For example, an $18 bonus grill box might include a couple 8oz. NY Strips, some 4oz. Bacon-Wrapped Fillets, 2 8oz. Sirloin Steaks,a package of 4oz. Boneless Center Cut Pork Chops, a a pound of Italian Sausage. Or you might be tempted by a package containing a mixture of T-bone steaks and shrimp.

For people just wanting to save a little money, these boxes can really go a long way. They offer extra groceries for less money, without the hassle of clipping coupons and searching for sales. If you have enough room in your freezer, you can even buy more than one of each package in order to stock up.

For low-income families, senior citizens on a tight budget, and other people who might have a hard time making ends meet, the Angel Food Ministries can really seem like an angel in a box. The $25 package can offer meals that might otherwise have been skipped or replaced with less healthy options. Since canned goods are also included, it can mean extra groceries to last a little longer.

The only problem with the Angel Food Ministries is that you must purchase your package almost two weeks in advance, so the first time it might seem like you are spending $25 without seeing something in return right away. However, once you pick up your first package, you will soon see how wisely the money was spent. You also must pick up your package (or arrange to have someone else pick it up for you) in the specified pick-up times, or your purchase becomes a donation to your host site.

If you are interested in saving money, or if you know someone in need, check out the Angel Food Ministries and see how it can help!

Although we do not order every month, we did find that overall Angel Food ministry was a value. Hopefully, others will find Angel Food helpful to lessen their food budget. Informative article.
