An Anniversary Poem

Bouquet of Romance

Bryan Belrad
I wrote this poem for my wife, for our 6th anniversary. She persuaded me that it should be published, so that other husbands could use it to make their wives cry those sweet tears of happiness. Enjoy.

"Colors"

White roses show my respect for you
even when we disagree

Yellow, because my best friend
forever will you be

Pink roses say 'I like you';
you're sexy and you're fun

I still love spending time with you
more than anyone

Red roses say "I Love You";
you are my joy in life

I have never been so glad to have
you as my darling wife

And with the passing years,
as we grow old and grey,

These feelings that I feel for you
will never fade away -

Instead, my dear, I've come to find
they're brighter with each day.

    What a lovely poem. The rhymes never strain and the meaning seems casual, and yet there is nothing casual about finding the love of your life. I'm lucky that way too. Very lucky.

    My husband saifd something similar when we had been married for five years. Come to find out, he lied! But, I hope and pray you and your wife can look back after 25 years and say these same things to each other.
