The Detroit Zoo has plenty to offer the whole family. While the days of summer get shorter, the Detroit Zoo is preparing for calmer days in the winter. The new Arctic Polar Bear Exhibit has much to share with visitors; not only is it one of the most realistic of its kind, but it has a wall of ice!

The Arctic Polar Bear Exhibit also features cold flooring to give the polar bears a more realistic habitat. The kids can touch it just as they do the ice in the winter. The tunnel is about as realistic as it comes with its ton of water hovering overhead, but be warned -- it can make you feel sea sick.

But the greatest part about the Detroit Zoo is the excitement and warmth you feel when you walk in those doors. There are many families big and small visiting, experiencing all the zoo has to offer.

The zoo has a clown, face-painting, and all the cotton candy, soft drinks, and pizza you can handle! So before it gets cold, hurry down to the Detroit Zoo in Royal Oak and share a fun day with your family!
