An Argument

Leslie Ann Goff
Screaming arguments,
Over bills, money, and lies,
Two hard heads meet,
Tempers rise till hot.

Where do we go from here?
What is left to say?
Never do we apologize,
Nor give the benefit of doubt,

Bitterness lingers throughout our house,
Misery for hours.
Until I give in,
to stop it,
I say it,
I'm Sorry

But I don't want to,
I don't mean those words.

I hate giving in,
To merely satisfy you,

You're acting like a child,
Makes me act like your mother.

You have broken my heart,
I still love you.
Damn it!

Screaming hurtful words,
Brutal honesties.
Things that should never be said,
Arise when hearts are broken.

Tight fists,
Teary eyes,
We stomp away.

Taking to heart,
What the other one said,
Resentment toward the other,
forces our hearts to drift apart.

Im a mother of 2 boys. I'll forever be young at heart. Im a lover, not a fighter. I love life and live free, but with caution. I dont spit in the wind nor eat yellow snow. Often I fall down, but pick myself...  View profile
