An Easy Melon Icecream Recipe

RDA
The fruits or the vegetables that are only on sale in the summer should be used in an end of summer recipe. Melon is one of them and it is the refreshing fruit of the summer. As the summer is ending, we won't be able to taste this delicious fruit till June. I used to plant a lot of melons in my garden and nothing is better than a fresh melon when you get exhausted of working under the sun. The sweetest melons are on sale in August because of the heat. You can choose a tasty melon by smelling it. If it has a sweet smell, buy it. It is probably a very tasty one.

I learned this ice cream recipe from my grandfather and it is very easy. Believe me it is delicious so I will share the recipe with you.

Half cantaloupe melon (seeds and skins removed)

2 liters of full fat milk

500 grams sugar

Pour the milk in to the pot and cook over medium heat. After it starts boiling, add the sugar and start stirring it up till the sugar dissolves in the milk completely. Turn off the stove and let cool to room temperature. Now cut the half melon into two pieces. Take one of the pieces and smash it for at least five minutes. Take the other piece of the melon and chop it into small cubes. Pour the smashed melon into the milk and smash about two more minutes and then stir it up for a minute. It is time to put the melon cubes into the milk and stir it up for two more minutes. Refrigerate the mixture until it gets hard. The ice cream is ready, bon appetite!
