When trying to regulate calorie, fat, and carbohydrate intake, it's easy to neglect the amount of protein that's taken in. So, it becomes increasingly important to supplement a diet or new eating plan with more protein.

In addition to supplementing your protein consumption, soy has a number of other benefits. Such as, increasing skin elasticity, healthier heart and bones, and some sources claim that it aids in the prevention of cancer and helps to relieve menopausal symptoms.

The easiest way to do this is with is with protein powder. One such brand that's available online on various websites is Jarrow Iso-Rich Soy. A large jar consisting of 892 grams of soy protein retails for less than $25 and often times can be purchased for much less.

Don't let the vanilla smell fool you! When mixed with water, it tastes disgusting! You will get better tasting results by mixing the Soy protein with either milk or fruit juice. But, if you want to cut the high calories, sugar, fat, and carbohydrates that are found in milk and fruit juice, you can experiment with various sugar free drinks and drink mixes to see which one you like the best.

Here is a quick and rather simple way to make a delicious soy protein smoothie.

You will need the following ingredients -

3 cups of water

2 Tablespoons of Soy protein powder

2 packets of On the Go Sugar Free Crystal Light (any flavor) packets

A generous amount of ice cubes

A decent blender

Pour the water, Soy, and Crystal Light into the blender.

Fill the blender with ice cubes about ¾ of the way full.

Blend for 30 seconds or so and enjoy! This all takes less than ten minutes to do and it turns out quite tasty and filling. These smoothies are also beneficial to drink before and after a workout because of their high content of protein. If you're not a big fan of Crystal Light, there are other companies that make similar-sized sugar free drink mix packets. Another favorite for flavoring is Kool-Aid. You can also find generic brands at your local grocery store.
