An Eclectic DVD Collection

My DVD collection is eclectic, but shows that I love Science Fiction, Romantic Comedies, and Disney movies. I don't buy DVDs often, but when I do, it's a movie I really love.

When Harry Met Sally - My favorite movie of all time, with some of the funniest and most thought-provoking quotes I've ever heard from a movie. This is the first of my Meg Ryan romantic comedies.

Sleepless in Seattle - This is another Meg Ryan romantic comedy. I enjoyed this DVD because Seattle is such a nice city.

French Kiss - The third in my Meg Ryan trifecta, I own this DVD because I saw it in a discount bin, and it's become one of my very favorites!

The Original Star Wars Trilogy (DVD Edition) - Long has my love affair with Star Wars lasted, so I had to buy these DVDs even if I am not fond of some of the decisions that were made in changing the movies for the DVD release.

The Indiana Jones Trilogy - Another series I fell in love with, in part due to the star, Harrison Ford. A trio of action-packed, funny adventure movies, I don't think many people haven't seen them.
R2-D2: Beneath the Dome - A "mockumentary," this DVD is a documentary about R2-D2, presented as though the robot from Star Wars is actually an actor. For Star Wars fans, it's a don't miss.
Bambi, Alice in Wonderland (Disney cartoon), Aladdin - Disney movies that I've always loved, these DVDs were all purchased with the intent of building a Disney DVD collection that was never completed.

Gattaca, The Fifth Element - Two great examples of modern Science Fiction, both are original stories about possible futures, with genetic profiling, flying cars, and other interesting ideas. The fifth Element is definitely the more fantastical and stylized of the two.

Moulin Rouge - I am a sucker for musicals, and Moulin Rouge is a great one.

Sabrina (1995), Hanover Street, Regarding Henry - These are the beginnings of another DVD collection I never finished, the Harrison Ford Collection. Sabrina is a remake of a Humphrey Bogart film, Hanover Street is from Ford's early acting days and is a war movie, and Regarding Henry is about a man who gets shot in the head and has to relearn how to live. I am surprised Ford didn't get any recognition for Regarding Henry, because it is an excellent movie.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - To top off my collection, there's a DVD of a movie from my childhood. I was always a big Ninja Turtles fan, and I still pull this DVD out to watch occasionally. There's just something about it - it goes to prove that you don't need a lot of CGI for a great movie with characters that aren't human!

Sounds like several that my husband and sons have collected. My kids were big TMNT fans. I had to make a TMNT circus birthday cake once!
