Philadelphia, PA - Around 10:20pm on April 17th inside Philadelphia's Electric Factory the lights go dark. The crowd chants, Sevendust...Sevendust, the intro music begins and with a burst of light the band hits the stage. The crowd went insane as the band launched into the first song of the night. Song after song the energy from the stage to the crowd is non-stop and intense.
Lajon (Vocals) plays the crowd from left to right making sure that everyone is involved in each song. He even took time to make some personal eye contact with some Philly friends attending the show. I love seeing the crowd interaction it's a big part of making a great band, building a stronger fan-base and putting on an even better show. At one point during the set, Lajon spotted an individual in the audience with his arms crossed and a pout on his face. During the performance of "Black", he pointed to the individual and asked, "Are you having a good time!" With a grin on his face, fist in the air and shouting "hell-yeah" right back at Lajon the show continued and that audience member felt even more involved and a hint of love from the band.
The pit was churning out the normal sweaty shirtless crowd surfers all night long and each song brought back memories of past shows and prior CDs. Towards the end of the set, I kept thinking that I have heard all the songs that I really would want to hear ...then they would break in with yet another track. Is it to many albums or maybe just too many great songs that you just can't remember them all. Sevendust played songs from their debut CD to many of the new tracks from Alpha, sure to leave the crowd feeling satisfied.
Check out Sevendust while they are on tour for the new cd, Alpha and If you have not yet purchased the cd, I suggest you go buy it. They were also running a special for signed CDs at the show if that is something that interest you. Find tour dates and other band information on www.sevendust.info
Enjoy.
