An Experiment with Comments

Spy Radio
It was Friday January 7th. With some free time on my hands I wanted to give something a try. I embarked on my journey of leaving 50 comments to 50 different contributors. I was interested to see if they would take the time to leave a comment on one of my articles. To make sure those contributors had enough time to leave me a comment I gave them over one weeks time before posting this article. I also made sure that the contributors were current and had posted near the end of December or beginning of January. Here is what I found...

Before the experiment I had 20 fans.

I left comments to 25 different female contributors. Five of those contributors returned a comment to me.

I left comments to 25 different male contributors. Three of those contributors returned a comment to me.

I received comments from four different contributors that where not part of the experiment.

As a result of the experiment I have 29 fans.

I am pleased with the results of the experiment. Going into the experiment I was not expecting to receive any comments in return. Only getting 12 comments in return does not seem like it was worth my time. That fact is probably true, but the reason I like comments is it provides a link to your page. When you have multiple links out there, you increase the chances of someone stumbling across your page.

It seems like the results of your experiment was worth doing it.
