An Illustrated Journal Description

A Personal Quirky Poem

Harold Dean Sink

On past the tree to the corner store,
I went to shop for something more.
New paper was needed for more art,
And after my purchase I did part.
The characters needed my skill
So they could have some form of will.

The colors began to define their look
As the illustrations filled the book.
Not manga or comic was this to be.
Instead a journal of what is me.

Some like to write of their spent day.
I'd much rather draw than waste it away.
There is much to do, but my talent pens,
As it turns words into pictures on pages within.
Each character is a part of me,
And all are designed so intricately.

The one in green represents my thumb.
Take your pick, each one is a green one.
The guys in khaki and navy blue clothes
Who work so much, work on those......vehicles and projects of wood.

The handsome one in the suit goes to church.
He does not sit on a throne to perch.
Only the best for God on His sacred day.
I would not have it any other way.
This wonderful way of expressing myself
Is in some way personal to improve myself.

I don't write as much as I used to, but I do find it as a way to put my thoughts on paper or on the computer.  View profile
