An Impending Genocide in India!

I was surprised to hear this from a ex-colleague who hails from India. And online search on the subject showed the appalling callousness shown in averting a tragedy of massive proportions.

If you want to understand this we will have to visualize it in an American scenario first. I understood the whole thing only after he did it for me thus:

Suppose there is an old dam on the Hudson, too old that it has outlived its predicted lifespan. And if the dam bursts New York will be threatened and so needs to be decommissioned without delay. Now what will be the situation if New Jersey objects to its decommissioning and sadistically enjoys New York's fears?

This is exactly what is happening in Southern part of India now.

Tamils on the east of South India are not allowing the decommissioning of a century-old dam that is threatening to burst any moment. My friend told me the dam has started developing holes and is leaking! And the Tamils are deriving cruel pleasure from the fears of people living in the western downstream of the river who belong to the neighboring state.

Tamils. That rings a bell. Aren't these the same people who were committing terrorism in Sri Lanka? No wonder they are terrorizing another group now in their own country!

I am surprised that such sadists exist even in this twenty-first century. And to use a crumpling dam as a weapon against another state in the same country. What a shame!

So, I wondered What is their federal government led by an economist doing? Doing nothing fearing he will lose the majority he enjoys with Tamil members of his cabinet!

All this when thousands of people are sure to lose their lives if the dam bursts.

What are they up to? Ethnic cleansing? Genocide of its own people?

Haven't Tamils learned anything from their botched terrorist attempts on Sri Lanka?

I think the intended victims should approach the International Court of Justice to avert a tragedy that I believe will be a crime against humanity.

May be Mahatma Gandhi was born elsewhere, not in India!
