An Inconvenient Truth

Steven Jacob Borthick
The more I learn, the more I find that learning is interesting. I don't want to stop. However, the more I learn, the more I find that knowledge should be put to use. Inconvenient Truth taught me just how crazy this whole global warming situation really is, and I understand now why it's such a big issue. Oddly enough, before I saw this movie, I didn't truly understand. This movie put the issue of global warming in perspective for me.

Honestly, this is something that should be shown all over the world, because it raises the awareness that our survival is dependent on minimizing global warming. I learned that many countries, states, and cities have taken initiatives to reduce carbon emissions, and I also see that with the rate at which carbon emissions are rising, our efforts needs to exponentionally increase as well in order to make an impact.

I'm truly grateful that, although this issue was caught rather late, people have been able to catch it even at this stage, because we're still at a point where something can be done. I simply thank God for showing us that there's a growing problem, and I'd like to thank the scientists for making the effort of researching this issue. Since I'm in the Navy, I often hear civilians thank me for "my service". Although our military in general is a fantastic organization, I think the ones most people need to focus on thanking for "their service" is the scientists and God. Scientists have bent over backwards for us, and God has worked for us, the ones that he loves, to help us.

So, coming from a military man, I say, "Thank you God, and thank you scientists, for all that you do." Please make a contribution towards going green if you have not already.
