An Inexpensive Flamenco Club In Barcelona

Tarantos March 2008 Schedule In English

Adrienne Jenkins
HISTORIC FLAMENCO TABLACO
Described on their website as "one of the oldest and most historic flamenco tablaos in the city of Barcelona. Tarantos opened its doors in 1963."

INTIMATE VENUE
It appears to have a capacity of around a hundred people and no matter where you're seated or standing, there's a good view from everywhere in the club. There's a small stage with floor seating then a couple of rows of tiered seating. The bar is elevated so you can still stand there at the back of the room and have an excellent view. As you face the stage, try to avoid the tableside seating on the left which has obscured views. You'll see what looks like two sets of speakers which are actually percussion instruments where musicians may be seated.

  • One of the oldest flamenco clubs in Barcelona
  • Inexpensive, cheap 30 minute salon shows
  • March 2008 Schedule
People often associate flamenco with an image of a flamboyant, dramatic dancer. But flamenco is so much more with the guitar, percussion and singer playing off one another to produce an intense, passionate performance.

High recommend it. GreIntimate setting, great guitar and amazing dancing. Also, surprisingly affordable. I like the club setting better than the dinner shows at other locations.

Tarantos is a really good Flamenco Club, I go every time I can, and thanks to this discount card I can save some money too...
