An Inside Look at Being a PartyLite Consultant

Lisa Ross
If you've ever been to a PartyLite show or heard about the company, you might have considered becoming a consultant. PartyLite is one of the best opportunities in direct sales today, and direct sales allow you to become successful quickly with training they provide.

There is no start-up cost with PartyLite; in fact you receive a kit worth $350 + during your training period. This training period consists of doing 6 shows in two weeks. Since your business will come from people you know, it is up to you to arrange these six shows.

PartyLite shows and training meetings are fun and filled with camaraderie. The company puts on a national conference annually that is a first-class production filled with education and entertainment.

Since PartyLite is a show-based business, they discourage selling on the Internet. There is a minimum dollar amount to turn in as a show, so most of your business will come from shows rather than individual orders

The biggest challenge with being a consultant is booking shows and getting those shows to hold. People are busier than ever these days, and that can make it difficult to find individuals willing to host a show. And even if a person agrees to host a show, they do sometimes cancel due to lack of interest from their friends or just changing their minds in general.

Since a lot of people say no to hosting a show, and many shows cancel, this really is a numbers game - talking to as many people as possible so you can achieve success. For people who are very persuasive, this can be easy. For the others it can be more of a challenge. PartyLite offers excellent training to help consultants improve their skills.

For those interested in a career-level income with PartyLite, their leadership program offers further compensation beyond just being a consultant.

Consultants receive a commission of what they sell and can also purchase products at half off. Some people just do PartyLite on a small scale to earn a little extra income and to receive a discount on candles.

The pluses of being a PartyLite consultant include the training, camaraderie, income, and discount on products.

The minuses include the difficulty of booking shows, and also the fact that your overhead expenses can eat into your profit if you're not careful. The cost of gas, postage, and catalogs can put too much of a dent in your earnings if you are not making much commission.

With its no-cost start-up and great training, you can't go wrong at least giving PartyLite a try. That's the only way to find out if it's right for you or not, and you'll make some money in the process.

I was reading this and am not sure how we are not able to sale online, Partylite does promote the usage of Facebook as well as a personal website for customers interested in purchasing items through PartyLite as with Two Sisters Gormet. I have been a consultant since 05-10 and Had only two shows and I never had to have six in two weeks. My starter show was paid for in one show. I just recently was able to get a bank account and then go online to submit my orders online instead of submitting them on paper form. That has made my life so much easier in regards to doing everything online. My personal website is
