An Insiders Guide to Seoul: Evergreen Halal Indian and Pakistani Restaurant and Buffet
Vegetarian Food Available
The decor features wooden tables and chairs (quite comfortable), as well as hookahs and Indian tapestries.
On Saturday and Sunday the Evergreen Halal Indian Restaurant in Itaewon serves up a fine buffet from noon til 11pm with many aromatic curries to choose from. This expansive hot buffet includes: vegetable samosas, vegetable curry, traditional dahl, three chicken dishes, a lamb curry, soup and biryani. Additionally, there are many fresh side dishes on the cold buffet available for your choosing. These cold dishes feature an assortment of at least eight vegetarian items including: Indian chickpea style tabouli, green lettuce salad, red tomato slices, steamed broccoli and a tri-color pepper salad. Also available are tuna salad and desserts which were fresh oranges and melon, cake, and custard.
The cold buffet at the Evergreen Halal Indian Restaurant in Itaewon also has a choice of four homemade sauces to choose from to accompany and compliment their main dishes. These sauces were so delicious I had to get a soup bowl to contain them so I could spoon them into my mouth. The Evergreen Halal Indian Restaurant in Itaewon features two flavors of scrumptious homemade raita; both a carrot and cucumber raita and an anise raita. The other two sauces were savory creamy coriander chutney and what I could only describe as a spicy pureed Indian tomato salsa. The cucumber and carrot raita and the spicy pureed Indian tomato salsa were my favorite.
The Evergreen Halal Indian Restaurant in Itaewon, Seoul, South Korea is conveniently located within walking distance of the Itaewon Subway station. Simply take the subway's Brown Line (number 6) to the Itaewon Station and use the Itaewon market exit (really any exit will do).
