So you have moved overseas to South Korea, you have been here a couple of months and it is time for a haircut. This can be a scary time for a "weh-guk-kin" (foreigner). As you may have already realized, there are many obstacles to getting the haircut you desire. If you don't live in Seoul it is time to take a road trip to Itaewon and visit the fabulous Michelle at The Green Turtle Hair Salon. Western hair needs different styling techniques than East Asian hair. To have a haircut experience that does not result in tears you need a hair stylist that has been trained overseas.

As you look around at all the wonderful Korean faces you realize your facial structure is different from theirs. Korean haircuts are designed for Korean faces. If you don't go to a hair stylist that has experience with western faces you will probably be disappointed with your haircut. Will a Korean hair stylist know how to give you a haircut that is flattering for your face? Probably not, but lucky for you, the fabulous Michelle at The Green Turtle Hair Salon in Itaewon does.

In Korea the stylist will give you a haircut while your hair is dry. This may be a good technique for East Asian hair, but does not give good results on western hair. At the Green Turtle Hair Salon in Itaewon you will receive the wash, cut, blow dry treatment your are accustomed to.

The most obvious obstacle to getting the haircut you desire in Korea is the language barrier. When you get your haircut by the fabulous Michelle at The Green Turtle Hair Salon in Itaewon you do not have to worry. Michelle speaks English well, is easy to communicate with and works with you to give you the haircut you want. Michelle has extensive experience with western hair. He has been trained overseas and has lived and cut hair in foreign countries. Michelle always makes me feel comfortable and does a great job with my haircut. I always leave The Green Turtle Hair Salon in Itaewon feeling happy and beautiful.

While there are some other places to get a good haircut in Seoul, such as Head Rush in Hongdae, the prices at The Green Turtle Hair Salon in Itaewon are the best. At this time a wash, cut and blow dry is only 20,000 won. Getting your bangs touched up costs only 5,000 won. Highlights start at an amazing 45,000 won. The Green Turtle Hair Salon in Itaewon also provides a steam conditioning treatment that leaves your hair feeling soft and luxurious.

The Green Turtle Hair Salon in Itaewon is very easy to find. It is located directly above the Itaewon subway station. You can use any available exit number. Once you are on the surface look for Quizno's, The Green Turtle Hair Salon in Itaewon is clearly visible on the corner across from the Hamilton Hotel. The Green Turtle Hair Salon is on the third floor of the Quizno's building above the Coffee Bean.

It is usually possible to get a walk-in haircut appointment at The Green Turtle Hair Salon in Itaewon. On occasion they have taken me right away. Other times I have waited to get my haircut for a couple hours. But if you are like me and want to schedule an appointment, the phone number for The Green Turtle Hair Salon in Itaewon is (02)790-6696 or (02)790-6266. The fabulous Michelle at The Green Turtle Hair Salon in Itaewon is the only stylist on staff so you don't have to worry about your haircut being performed by an inferior stylist.

The Green Turtle Hair Salon in Itaewon is a full service salon. Additional services include: manicures, pedicures, nail art, tanning, full body massage and waxing. I have not tried these other services but the manicure area at The Green Turtle Hair Salon in Itaewon is always busy, so I would assume they do a good job. They will also charge your cell phone during your appointment and offer you water, coffee and green tea.

I can second that he gives a good haircut. My friend got her haircut there and he listened to every word she said. He didn't go crazy and trim off too much, like some hairdressers do. When I need my haircut I am definitely going to go to him!
