Dig Philly: Tell me all about your 2nd album....How is it different from your 1st? .
Aiden James: Well, my first record came out 2ish years ago. Since then, I have grown as a musician, written lots of new material and toured around the states. I felt the old CD didn't represent me very accurately now, and it was time for a new record.
AC: What did you learn from doing your first album that you applied to this one?
AJ: I nearly had a heart attack putting out my first album [Laughs]. Looking back now, I was so scared and nervous! But now - this time - it was actually really fun. I took a big chill pill. I enjoyed developing the tracks over a course of 4 months.
AC: What is your favorite song on the new album?
AC: Ahhhhhh! I saw that question coming! [Laughs] I have a soft spot in my heart for "Miffin County". But, I have a feeling everyone is gonna love "You and He."
AC: How much touring will you do to support this album?
AJ: I will be crashing on friends couches all over the country! [Laughs] I have a couple dates in the upper north east set for October, and then in I'll do the New England area in November. I'll be booking as much as I can this year.
AC: Do you mind touring? How much do you enjoy the live experience?
AJ: Touring is tough when you don't have a car. And I don't have a car, so I have to be very clever. I do buses, flights, book tours with a fellow singer and do some dates together. Whatever...I do love playing out live...And meeting people at the shows is the best.
AC: Ever had any weird fan encounters? Do you get a lot of nookie being on stage?
AJ: [Pause} One time, yes! This is funny, I was playing an outdoor festival in Baltimore and someone sent me an email a few days later. They saw me texting and asked for my number...They said if I ever wanted to talk we could text. I didn't give out my number but the next day, I got a text saying "come back to Baltimore so I can touch you". [Laughs] It freaked me out...I changed my number the very next day.
