Q: First let me thank you for taking the time out of your schedule to answer a few questions. Let's start with you telling us a little about yourself. The name you use here on AC and why, where you live, what you do for a living, do you have a hobby, a family?
SkyeDanzer: I go by Skyedancer for my AC name because I think that the sky is the limit when it comes to writing.
I live in North Carolina and only do freelance writing for a living. My wonderful husband and I raise show poultry as a hobby. I also dabble in poetry, gardening and home improvement for fun.Q: What is your idea of a great vacation?
SkyeDanzer: My idea of a great vacation is to head the beach and do some pier fishing, watch a beach sunset and go on a dolphin tour.
Q: What kind of movies do you enjoy and what is your favorite movie?
SkyeDanzer: I like mystery movies and Renaissance themed movies. My favorite movies are a tie between Gladiator and What Dreams May Come.
Q: Would you call yourself an outdoor or indoor type of person? Explain.
SkyeDanzer: Due to health problems, I would say that, other than gardening, I'm an indoor person.
Q: How long have you been writing?
SkyeDanzer: I started writing in junior high school, where a poem was published in the high school paper. I began Internet writing a few years ago.
Q: If you had a Bucket List, what would be the top three things you wanted to do before you die?
SkyeDanzer: [1] Shake Mark Martin's hand in person.
[2] Spend an entire month on vacation with family touring Australia.
[3] Write a novel.
Q: Do you have a favorite author (not an AC Producer)?
SkyeDanzer: Dean R. Koontz is my favorite author.
Q: What do you like about writing for Associated Content?
SkyeDanzer: I like the freedom and flexibility that AC offers to me for my writing career. I am my best friend and inspiration or I'm my own downfall. It is completely up to me and no-one else.
Q: Do you publish your work anywhere else?
SkyeDanzer: I also publish short books on LuLu. I have up a few articles on Helium, where I first started writing. I also write reviews for Shared Reviews website.
Q: Where do you get your inspiration for topics?
SkyeDanzer: I carry around a little notepad. I hear snippets of conversations on the radio, in the store lines, from television shows and these end up turning into articles. I also like to browse magazines.
Q: Do you have a favorite genre to work in?
SkyeDanzer: I have four primary favorite genres for writing on AC: home improvement, gardening, going green and relationships.
Q: Do you have any advice for someone getting started with freelance writing?
SkyeDanzer: Believe in yourself and commit to a schedule. Don't quit your regular job in the beginning.
Q: Very sound advice! Now for the shamless plug. Which piece of work here on Associated Content do you think is an example of your best work? Please provide the link.
