An Introduction to Frederic Fekkai and His Hair Care Line

SE
Those who are interested in high end salon hair care may have already heard of Frederic Fekkai. For those who haven't, or just want to know more, here is an introduction to the man and the products.

Fekkai was born in Aix-en-Provence in the South of France. At one time, he considered becoming a sculptor. His attention soon turned to hair styling. In the early 80s, at the age of 25, he came to New York. He quickly became known for clean, modern hair cuts and his clientele soon included celebrities and models.

Fekkai's career continued to grow and his first salon was opened in 1989. He now has salons in New York City, Beverly Hills, and Palm Beach.

The Frederic Fekkai product line was originally developed to please his clientele, as well as provide great hair care for every hair type. The products were tested in his salons before evolving into a nationwide product line. The line was successfully launched in 1995.

There are five main groups of products within the line; each is for a specific hair type. The glossing family, which comes in green, addresses the most common hair care concern - dull hair. These products feature olive oil to add moisture and shine to average hair.

For chemically treated hair, there is the Technician color care family. These products utilize a triple color protection complex, which keeps your hair soft and color looking vibrant. These also have UV ray protection to prevent the sun from fading your color.

Within the Fekkai line, the Protein Rx Reparative products add strength to weak or damaged hair. These feature soy and milk proteins to improve and protect your hair.

The Full Volume products include wheat protein and cherry bark extract to give fine, limp hair a boost.

Lastly, for those with curly hair, there is the Luscious Curls family. This group contains honey nectar and ginseng, to enhance curls without weighing them down.

Each family within the Frederic Fekkai line contains a complete hair care regimen: shampoo, conditioner, treatment (such as a conditioning mask) and styling products. If you have two hair care concerns, and do not want to limit yourself, you can try mixing and matching. For example, if you have fine, limp hair and want extra shine, try the Full Volume shampoo and conditioner followed by styling products from the Glossing family.

These products can be found at Frederic Fekkai salons, as well as Bath and Body Works, Fred Segal, Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, and several other stores nationwide.

I love the Frederic Fekkai shea butter shampoo and conditioner. I really gives my hair a lot of body and shine. I would recommed it for black hair. The only thing that I was disappointed it doesn't come in a larger size bottle only the 8oz.
