An Introduction to My PMA Award Nomination Articles

Han Van Meegerin
People's Media Award Nominations

In 2006 Associated Content announced the winners of the first ever People's Media Awards. These awards continued in 2007 and 2008 and are commonly referred to as the PMA Awards. Associated Content Contributors look forward to the PMA awards each year. These awards are cherished by the winners. This is because not only do they represent a formal sign of recognition for producing exemplary work, but they also carry monetary compensation as well.

I am publishing a series of articles that arise out of Associated Content's call for nominations for their 2009 PMA content and contributor awards. This series of articles will be published in what I hope will be rapid succession after the publication of this introductory article. Associated Content is blessed to have a multitude of exceptional Contributors that publish content on their site. With so many talented Contributors producing quality pieces of content, selecting the winners will be a daunting task. I don't envy the folks that have to make the final determinations. As an Associated Content Contributor I feel that I have an obligation to nominate Contributors that have set the bar of excellence extremely high, during their tenure with Associated Content. Equally, I know I must only nominate pieces of content that rise well beyond the norm and leave its readers with a permanent impression in their mind, heart and soul.

For those of you that are wondering if I followed the appropriate nominating protocol. The answer to that question is yes. However, I wanted to go beyond that gesture. I want to shine whatever light I may have on both the Contributors and the content that I nominated. It is also my hope that when I publish this series of articles, it makes it more likely that someone will be touched or inspired after they discover for themselves how talented the Contributors are and how rich the content is. Perhaps the authors will get noticed and obtain new opportunities to pursue. Now I can't promise the world. I am simply one man with an opinion and a computer. In this day and age this means that I can express myself in this manner.

In this series of articles, I will nominate a Contributor for both the 2009 Contributor of the Year PMA Award and a Contributor for the 2009 Rookie of the Year PMA Award. I will also nominate five articles for the five Content 2009 Year PMA Awards.

Jack is right. I nominated you for the Community Spirit award. You spend so much time helping and encouraging others and definitely deserve this award. You give and give and never expect anything in return. This world needs more people like you Han. You have been one of my favorite Contributors since you started writing here and are still one of my favorites. Thank you for the races as well. They definitely keep me, and so many others, motivated :)

Great job Han. I actually nomitated you as the Contributor of the Year for all the tireless (well, tiring more likely) work you've done for all the AC writers. I nominated you because you have helped AC writers more than anyone I can think of. Well done!
