I was hesitant about joining the race for page views. To be honest, I really didn't want to flop. These races are much more than how many page views is gotten though. Through these races that Han works so hard at, we not only have more motivation, but also discover new interesting writers that maybe we didn't notice before. Providing much more than PV's, it creates a sense of community and closeness. I have also learned that my teammates are quite interesting! I always was curious about other people and their lives long before I started writing. Not in a nosy way, I just love hearing about different lifestyles and different people. If we were all the same, and held all the same opinions, how boring life would be! Maybe that's why I love reading everyone's articles. Such a diverse group of people with varying opinions, yet as a whole, the AC community shows utmost respect for everyone, not just those that think alike. This is very unusual and one of the things that makes AC so great.
A Little About Taylor Rios
Taylor Rios has been on AC since November 16, 2009. Since then, she has written seventy seven articles. Taylor's articles vary from topic to topic, a little bit of everything which keeps things interesting. Her impressive articles go from personal topics such as her article What I Am Most Thankful for in 2009
to religion with her article Should Christians Be Friends with Non-Believers and the Spiritually Numb?
to her very informative health articles such as Wagner Syndrome and so much more! I am glad Taylor is on my team. I am also glad to talk to her through PM's. She is very nice and extremely helpful.
Taylor Rios' Interview
Q - Did you always enjoy writing?
A - Yes, ever since I was in elementary school although I didn't realize it was a talent until my 9th grade English teacher pointed out how detailed my creative stories were.
Q - What school subject were you best at?
A - Definitely English and Drama
Q - Do you like to read?
A - I love to read and always have!
Q - If so, what authors/types of books do you like most?
A - I am a huge collector of V.C. Andrews books, especially the older ones. I also read Joyce Meyer, Dean Koontz, Fern Michaels, and Stormie O'Martian on a regular basis. I read spiritual books to benefit my soul and suspense to benefit my curiosity of the what-ifs.
Q - What subject interests you most?
A - I have to say that psychology and self-help topics interest me the most because I have had so many personal challenges in life. It's also interesting to understand how the human mind works.
Q - What subject interests you most to write about?
A - I really enjoy writing about my past. Although sometimes it is hard for people to read, it is very therapeutic for me and it's important that others know that they are not alone.
Q - If you work outside the home, besides AC, what do you do for a living?
A - I don't technically work outside the home, although I do help my mother-in-law manage her salon a few days a week. It is more like volunteering.
Q - How did you find AC?
A - My husband and I were in a financial crunch when his hours were cut in half and I did a search on the Internet on getting paid to write. I did not realize such sites existed! It was really a shot in the dark, or maybe someone up above was guiding me.
Q - Have you written or do you write for other sites?
A - Yes.
Q - If so, would you like to name them?
A - I write for Triond, Bukisa, Factoidz, Helium, and am a ghostwriter for Textbroker.
Q - Do you have any hobbies?
A - Oh, yes, tons of them!
Q - if so, what hobby do you enjoy?
A - I enjoy arts & crafts, building things, horror movies, and puzzles. Pretty much anything creative or artistic.
Q - Anything else at all you would like to add?
A - I would like to add that I am a night owl hermit. My most productive hours are between midnight and 4:00 AM, and I prefer my solitude so I tend not to venture out in the real world with people unless I have to.
The last bit of information is very interesting. I have found that many writers here on AC find the night lets their words flow.
Well thanks everybody for reading my introduction, and please check out Taylor's work. Believe me you won't regret it. Taylor's articles are very interesting, informative, heartfelt and thought provoking.
