An Ode to Silence

A.M. Morgan
Don't take it personal when it chooses not to speak

Don't call it strange because it's not a topic for popular media

Don't believe it's insecure because it prefers inner confidence instead of arrogance

Be cautious in calling it by another name if it chooses to refrain from being apart of the in crowd

Don't try to make it feel ashamed of being different when the status quo refuses to change

Don't challenge its intentions for being comfortable in walking along the lines of the truth

See it as it is instead of through a superficial context it can't relate to

Life can be private and not for public consumption

There is no longer room here for reality TV

It's time to embrace silence and the power of discretion

Great perspective and just came in timely with my recent article. I feel, silence engages us in deep conversation than eloquence.

I like how your poem summed up the strong points of silence and how, contrary to conventional wisdom, it is a show of virtue.

Wow! I appreciate this poem. A reminder to be quick to listen, and slow to speak.

    Thanks,
