An Opinion on Fat People

(or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Hoagie)

James R. Ford
Sometimes, in a local grocery store, I'll see someone really, really fat. I mean grossly obese.
That person will usually have a shopping cart overfilled with food.
Sometimes, I'll sneak a look to see what is in the cart.
It is filled with hardly any fruits or vegetables. There are usually many boxes of cookies and snacks. Many packages of frozen dinners laced with high sodium content and saturated fats. And don't forget the ice cream.

All of this makes me feel sad for them. I mean, hasn't anyone told them not to eat so much. Or that eating unhealthy foods bring forth high blood pressure, diabetes, and heart disease. I have known some overweight people. Some are closet eaters. They will tell you they are not hungry, or will not eat much in your presence.
However, when no one is around, they gorge thier mouths with gobs of fattening food. Sometimes you can see them pull up to a drive through window at a fast food restaurant. They will not go inside. Instead, they will stay in their oversized SUV as not to be seen.

Small wonder that hardly anyone of a huge size lives past the age of fifty.
