An Orgasm is Not the Gospel

1 Corinthians 6:13 b - "The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body."

Why do men cheat? Why did Tiger Woods, Jesse James, Tiki Barber, Kobe Bryant, John Edwards, David Letterman, Bill Clinton, and numerous others cheat? The answer is that these men all struggled with believing that an orgasm is the gospel. These men do not understand or consistently believe what Christ claimed: "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10)." One of the reasons Jesus came to the earth was to give sinners the abundant life, life to the fullest, in Him.

Contrary to popular belief, this does not mean that Jesus came to give sinners the best life that they can think of; it simply means that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and no one comes to the Father but by Him (John 14:6). Jesus believed that the only Way to have the best life was for sinners to be reconciled to His Father through Him. If Jesus is correct, and is not a liar, then this means that the life that Tiger Woods, Jesse James, Tiki Barber, Kobe Bryant, John Edwards, Bill Clinton, and David Letterman were looking for through multiple orgasms is actually found in Christ.

The fact that some of these men were/are married to arguably some of the most beautiful women on earth, and that fact that several of them cheated with multiple women, proves that these men believed that the abundant life is found in the sex act. Furthermore, the fact that they went from one partner to the next shows that they believed these orgasms were the source of the abundant life; but, the fact that they must have more partners proves that they have not found the abundant life. One time or even many times were not enough.

Although you may not agree with my conclusions, how do you answer why these men are willing to throw their families, reputations, money, etc. away in order to sleep with multiple women? The answer is not because they are men; the answer is not because they are victims, the answer is not because they are even stupid; the answer is because they are sinners that have believed a lie. The abundant life is found in Christ alone; and until these men realize this they will run from one idol to the next until they evaluate their lives on their deathbeds lamenting over how much they wasted. My prayer is that if these men do not know Jesus Christ that they will repent of their sins and trust in His finished work alone for their salvation. If they are already Christians, my prayer is that they will repent of their sin and get up and continue to believe that the abundant life is found in Christ alone. May God have mercy on them.
