First, let's take a look at the LX model Accord. This comes with the 2.4 liter engine, which puts out 177 horsepower and 161 foot pounds of torque. This engine can be coupled to either a five speed manual or automatic transmission. You have the choice of either 16 inch wheels with covers or alloys. Highway gas mileage is rated at 31 miles per gallon for either transmission. Some standard features include: remote entry, power windows, cruise control, air conditioning, telescopic and tilt steering column, tachometer, side curtain airbags, stability assist with traction control, tire pressure monitoring system, and much more.
If that's not quite enough for you, then you might want to consider the EX model. The EX comes with either a 2.4 liter engine producing 190 horsepower and 162 foot pounds of torque or a 3.5 liter V6 with 268 horsepower and 248 foot pounds of torque. Seventeen inch alloy wheels, larger front brake rotors, a security system, heated side mirrors, and power driver's seat lumbar support are some of the upgrades all EX models receive.
Still want more upgrades? There are still plenty more top-of-the-line features available for the 2008 Honda Accord upon your request. For example, you could choose to add Honda's navigation system with voice recognition. Leather options are plentiful also. You can add a leather-wrapped steering wheel, seat trim, and, for the manual transmission model, a shift knob. Heated seats are available for those cold winter days. For the music fans, the XM satellite radio option would be a big bonus. The V6 option still gets 29 miles per gallon and has a huge power increase, which is well worth the tradeoff in my opinion.
So you are probably wondering how much Honda is asking for the 2008 Accord aren't you? Honda puts the starting price at $20,360 for the Accord LX. The price tag for the base Accord EX is $23,060. The luxury-minded Accord EX-L V6 with the navigation system comes in at $30,260. Whether or not these features are worth the money is up to you, but one thing that's stayed constant over the years is the reliability of the Honda Accord. I don't foresee any changes going into 2008.
