An Overview of Pro Kadima: The Perfect Low-Cost Year-Round Outdoor Game

Steven Moneyworth
I was introduced to Pro Kadima while at the beach this summer. Numerous people on the beach were playing a game wherein they would hit a ball back and forth with a large paddle. The game reminded me of ping-pong and badminton, both games I enjoy, so I decided to further investigate the game. This game is called Pro Kadima, and I believe it to be a great, fun, and ideal low-cost outdoor game for friends and families.

As previously mentioned, Pro Kadima is a cooperative outdoor game played between two or more people. A medium-density rubber ball is volleyed back and forth between players, each holding a wooden paddle that is roughly twice as large as a ping-pong paddle. The goal of Pro Kadima is not to allow the ball to hit the ground. Pro Kadima is not an inherently competitive game, but scoring and rules can be imposed if so desired. Despite its simplicity, Pro Kadima is extremely fun and could be played anyone with enough strength to lift the paddle.

One of the things that I really like about Pro Kadima is that very little equipment is necessary to play the game. The only things that are necessary to play Pro Kadima are the paddles and a ball. These supplies are very inexpensive. A Pro Kadima set, at least the one I purchased, contains two paddles and a ball. This set cost only eight dollars, and I purchased six replacement balls for four dollars. Twelve dollars is the average cost of a regulation-sized Frisbee. An entire family could purchase three Pro Kadima sets and nine replacement balls for around thirty dollars - a very reasonable price, even in hard economic times.

No net or court is necessary for Pro Kadima, meaning that this game is ideal for vacations, day trips, small backyards, college campuses, and other similar locations. Only the square footage of an average living room is necessary to play Pro Kadima, though more height is needed than an indoor ceiling provides. Pro Kadima is an outdoor game by necessity.

The exercise potential of Pro Kadima depends on who is playing. If two individuals are playing in a restrained manner, Pro Kadima won't do a lot to burn calories. If several people are playing and having more intense volleys, Pro Kadima might be a more legitimate form of exercise. There is little risk of injury while playing Pro Kadima.

If you are looking for the perfect low-cost outdoor activity for all seasons, you should give Pro Kadima a try. Have you played Pro Kadima? Feel free to share your thoughts about Pro Kadima in the form of a comment. Thank you for reading!
