An Unofficial Biography: Holly Madison

What Makes This Girl Next Door a Definite Favorite?

LeighAnn Mohr
For those not entirely familiar with the beautifully blonde Holly Madison. She's a model, reality television celebrity and most importantly, Hugh Hefner's number one girl. Along side of the sportish beauty, Kendra Wilkinson and the festively sophisticated beauty of Bridget, the three of them take on life at the Playboy Mansion every sunday night on E! with their reality series, "The Girls Next Door".

Holly Madison was born on December 23, 1979 in Astoria, Oregon. Shortly after being born, her family packed up their belongings and moved to Prince of Wales Island which can be found on a map as being located in Alaska. It was in Alaska that Holly spent the majority of her youth reading Nancy Drew mysteries, playing in the woods and watching bears rummage amongst her and her family's garbage. Definitely not the typical childhood but eventually Holly's parents moved their family back to Oregon when Holly was in middle school.

After high school, Holly discovered that she had a true knack for acting. She eventually enrolled herself into Portland State University and majored in theatre and psychology. However, it was frequent visits to Disneyland that really led Holly to fall in love for the warm climate and atmosphere of Southern California. After two years at Portland State University, Holly ended up transferring to Loyola Marymount University located in Los Angeles, California.

Being just a typical college student and finding out that the cost of education and general living in California was rather expensive, Holly found herself working two jobs to pay her own way. One job being a roller skating waitress at a Santa Monica Hooters restaurant and the other job being a model for Hawaiian Tropics.

As her time as far as being a waitress at Hooters progressed, Holly would always over hear fellow co-workers talk about all of the parties that they'd attend at the extremely famous Playboy Mansion. Holly found herself being so caught up in the hype of their words that when one of Hef's friends spotted her modeling in a Hawaiian Tropics contest and placed her amongst the Mansion's guest list, she was ecstatic.

Holly's first experience at the Playboy Mansion was The Midsummer Night's Dream party which is considered the most elegant party of the year. After that night, Holly found herself becoming a regular on the Mansion's guest list. After spending an entire year attending parties at the Mansion, Hugh Hefner finally asked her out on their very first date. And after that, the rest is actually rather predictable as she was invited to become a permanent fixture within the Mansion.

Aside from being Hugh Hefner's number one girl and starring on "The Girls Next Door," Holly runs her very own clothing line, continues to model and has to deal with a schedule that's completely chaotic to which includes weekly photo shoots, interviews and public appearances.

Still devoted with the furthering of her education. Holly studies business at Santa Monica College and real estate development at the UCLA Extension School. Goal wise, Holly wishes to earn her degree and also visit every single one of the Disney themed parks.

Other minor things to know about Holly includes her favorite color which is white, her favorite movie which is "City Lights" with Charlie Chaplin, her favorite beverage which is Diet Coke and her favorite novel which includes "The Great Gatsby". Holly dislikes exercising and keeps her body beautifully in shape by merely counting calories. She enjoys listened to Frank Sinatra while relaxing and has even taken swing dancing lessons in the past.
