The First One Called as Such, but Probably the Millionth One Written
I would flirt with you endlessly for the fun of it,
knowing it means nothing to you.
So why do you taunt me
and express feelings you do not have?
Why do you tell me you are coming to see me
knowing you won't?
Why do you refuse to admit the truth
before I have to suffer and realize it on my own?
Why do I always believe you
no matter how many times you have let me down?
Again and again I've spoken to you
Knowing it will always end the same way
But trying anyway to make something out of it
Trying to make it feel as real to you as it seems to
when you are sharing feelings
and making promises
you don't intend to keep.
