Analysis of the WAC Bowl Season

2009-2010

The WAC stands at a disappointing 1-2 on the bowl season with one game left (Boise State vs. TCU). Boise State has not even set foot on the field yet but some would say that their perfect season has already lost a little bits of its luster. How so? Fresno State opened up the bowl festivities by losing to a Wyoming team that most people thought they could not lose too. It is now official, Fresno shows up for BCS schools and sends the 'C' team out for non-BCS schools. Neveda, a team that absolutely dominated the WAC, maybe more so than even Boise State (outside of their game against Boise) got ran off the field by a middle tier Conference USA team (SMU). Idaho beat Freddie Barnes, excuse me, Bowling Green. That took Bowling Green basically giving the game away in addition to late game heroics by Idaho. A win is a win. It is not Boise's fault that they play in the WAC. That kind of stuff is kind of pre-determined but if Boise gets blown out by TCU tonight consider it a dreadful bowl season for the WAC.
