The Brooklyn Paper's Police Blotter came out today. And Carroll Gardens is looking good.

Four crimes are reported between October 2nd and 10th. That's about one crime every other day.

In a perfect world, we would have no crime. But given the society we live in this report isn't bad.

I've been covering crime in downtown Brooklyn and Clinton Hill for over a month now. Downtown usually has at least one crime per day. Clinton Hill has two crimes per day most weeks with violent crime and brazen crime being committed in the broad daylight.

Unfortunately, half (2) of Carroll Gardens' reported crimes were violent.

Oct. 5th - Two female thugs tried to mug a woman for her purse on Warren Street near Clinton Street at 9 pm. They hit the victim in the head with a blunt object.

Oct. 10th - Two men robbed a livery cab driver, at gunpoint, on Bond Street near Butler Street at 12:20 am. The driver was not harmed but armed robbery is a violent act.

The two non-violent crimes were:

Oct. 4th - Two teens snatched a man's bag on Coffey Street near Van Brunt Street at 12:05 am.

Oct. 2nd to 4th - Tools were trotted off a construction site on Union Street between Hoyt and Bond streets over the weekend.

None of the crimes reported were committed in the broad daylight. So, all in all, Carroll Gardens, you're looking good.

Stay safe, till next time.

From the skyscrapers of NYC, I face strength. From the people of NYC, I gain understanding. And from the heart of NYC, I feel inspiration. So, I tend to write about the city quite a bit.  View profile
