You Have to Believe in What You Produce and Stick with It

An analysis is that you can't simply put the full court press on leading up to the Consumer Electronics Show and then not follow this up with support for what you have just done. Don't walk away from slow sales till the product has shown that it is not viable in the market.

Look no further the 3D as an example. 3D was thought to be the savior of the industry. Everyone was going to purchase a 3D set.

Problem was to start with was there was no programing for the sets. To this date over two years later their still isn't enough programing available on the national level to program a full month of over the air network programing.

When it was discovered that there was little interest in purchasing the expensive 3D sets the manufactures moved on. Of course they blamed the suppliers of programing for not making enough programing to make the sets worth the expense. They blamed everything but the sink in your kitchen as the reason for the sets not selling.

Today as of this time the article was written they are blaming a lack of education by the retailers as to how great the sets are and how they are worth the extra expense to purchase one. Sort of thought this was their job to educate the people as to why they should purchase their sets nit the retailers.

The basic problem is now in the industry as it has been for several years and it doesn't take a lot of analysis to prove this point. No one has any extra money to spend.

When you aren't going to movies, buying clothes, going out for the evening because you don't have the spare change to do this you're not likely to purchase something you see as unnecessary.

In better times people are more willing to take the chance and give something new a shot. When you can't pay your bills or your holding on to what you have because you're scared of what the future may be, you don't take that chance.

This goes for the creators of the programing that is so needed to make 3D work. Just look at all the productions in both Television and Motion pictures that are being canceled because of cost. 3D is expensive to make.

If you have a limited amount of money to spend on productions and attendance is down in the theatres and advertising revenue is down on television do you take a fling or go tired and true. You guard what you have and stick to the formula.

Simply as soon as the Consumer Electronics industry understands you can't sell what no one has the money to buy they might take a different track as to how they do business and they might see a change in in the industry. You have to bring the products you're producing along as if they were new born babies and had to grow some before they could go out on their own.

You have to believe in what you produce and stick with it. You win some and you lose some in business this way but when you're trying to produce game changers you have to stick with them till the economic situation changes and an accurate assessment of the product sale ability can be made.
