Analyzing Why Megan Fox Gets Replaced by Rosie Huntington-Whitely in Transformers 3

Victoria's Secret Model Rosie is the New Face of the Transformers Franchise

As the third installment of Transformers is slated on 2011, filming already began and Michael Bay recently confirmed that Rosie Huntington-Whitely is really the new Transformers gal.

Megan Fox
Many write-ups about whether Fox was canned or she actually left the franchise keep the buzz coming. The only thing confirmed: Megan Fox is out of Transformers 3 and Rosie Huntington-Whitely is Shia LaBeouf's new love interest for the third installment of the Transformers flick.

While rumors abound, there are many things showing the two possibilities: either she gets axed or she decides to leave for good.

Fox's outspoken manner of describing the director who built her Hollywood career was all over the papers. These were not mere gossips but words directly quoted from her. Then came director Michael Bay's responses to such ungrateful words from the actress. Moreover, there were many threads to follow as to how her relationship with the behind-the-scene people seemed not to be in a very favorable track. Open letters from crew members popped out in various websites and other media platforms. More quotes from various interviews between Bay and Fox sprouted like crazy all over the papers, blogs, and entertainment websites. The "word war" between the director and the actress became a really huge buzz.

On a personal note, somebody I know from the U.S. Navy who saw Fox during the filming of Transformers at their ship described her not very welcoming attitude. Yet, I should still give the actress that benefit of the doubt since I have no personal encounter with her. And so, the most I can do is to quote and retell what others said and make certain assessments based on them.

With Fox's words against Bay, the issue is beyond her personal and professional concerns with the director. Granting that Bay is "Hitler-ish" (just an example, as she quoted him as that in one of her interviews), the way she handles the situation by blabbering around the media so carelessly about it is just one of the biggest mistake she ever made in her career. Ethics in any industry is always important. Moreso in the entertainment industry where she dwells, where her every word, every wrong move, every awful fashion choice, and every awkward pose can get recorded and replicated for the whole world to see. If it's true that Bay is hard to work with, it's not ethical, and definitely not professional, for her to use such words in media to somehow defame her director. In the long run, her bad choice of words is going to be her loss, not his. Besides, talk about gratitude...

Whether Bay dropped her from the franchise or she really left, the primary issue that stays is what's next for the bombshell? Her Jennifer's Body was a flop, so outside Transformers which has its own following and tried-and-tested branding, bankability seems not to be in her favor so far. She has a couple of upcoming projects and these will determine what's in store for her acting career. According to IMDb, she has an in development project entitled Fathom. She is also rumored to star as a mermaid for the Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. She is starring in upcoming movies The Crossing, Passion Play, and Jona Hex as well.

Rosie Huntington-Whitely
With Fox leaving the franchise, it's the biggest break for the new Transformers hottie, the freshest face to grace the big-budgeted robot action movie (while only having the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show stints on her IMDb credits), Rosie Huntington-Whitely. She is an English supermodel usually compared to Kate Moss.

Clearly, as how he managed to pave the Hollywood fame path to the no-namer Fox prior to her appearance in the first Transformers movie, Bay really intended to launch a fresh face for her replacement.

Apart from modeling in many familiar brands such as Burberry and Victoria's Secret, Huntington-Whitely also appeared in Pharrell and Kanye West's music video Number 1, along with fellow Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr. Bay already worked with her in a Victoria's Secret commercial.
