A review of the History Channel Show that has us looking at our Cosmic Crossroads

Let's face it; fairy tales and mythology were once part of what people believed was one-hundred percent fact. Today, we discount tales of flying carpets, battles between gods in the sky or their descent from heaven to earth. Conceptually, the idea that mankind's technological growth has been on a rather steady incline is accepted and taught as fact.

What are the facts? Why are some ignored and others selected for acceptance? Is it science or politics? Are there people who offer yet another explanation? The answer is yes and the result is Ancient Aliens, an offering from Prometheus Entertainment, and aided by the production work of Giorgio Tsoukalos who helped make this a reality.

Prometheus Entertainment is run by Kevin Burns, his website states they produce "critically acclaimed highly rated programming for the cable marketplace". Burns has been behind pushing the jiggle factor in shows like Girls Next Door, Kendra and Holly's World, all great displays of the feminine form of vivacious Playboy models. Prometheus has also contributed Food Paradise to the cable world but clearly Ancient Aliens is the first major step into science, history and controversy. Fortunately, they demonstrate how they cooperate with the top experts in the field to produce another highly rated show.

It began on March 8, 2009, Ancient Aliens aired on the History Channel. The pilot episode was called Chariots, Gods and Beyond; it did well enough to justify another five shows. Ancient Aliens is a show that fits those who have studied the massive amount of data on this subject and those who are just now waking up to the fact that the current perception of the history of mankind may be far from the reality.

The second show; The Evidence, first aired on April 20, 2010. The time lag and the vexing schedule of how the History Channel seems to air its programs make the numerous ads promoting it very necessary, especially when there are other similar programs like Alien History on the History Channel.

If there are true skeptics that will watch, you will find no shortage of evidence of much higher ancient technology, a lot of ancient texts and scriptures from India, the middle east and elsewhere which claim people were taught and meet with the Gods from the sky.

The Godfather to the Ancient Alien theory and author of a 1968 hot seller, Chariots of the Gods, Erich Von Daniken serves as a catalyst to disburse the massive amount of research he has accumulated. His organization the AASRA, or Archaeology, Astronautics and SETI Research Association compiles the evidence and hired Giorgio Tsoukalos to become the Director of AASRA in 1997.

Von Daniken has not always been on the path he preferred. In the early 1960's Von Daniken was convicted of fraud involving his boss at a hotel where he worked. Shortly thereafter he was convicted of embezzlement for which he spent three years in a Swiss prison. That was then and this is now, the Ancient Alien theorist has easily sold over 62 million books in 32 languages worldwide according to rationalwiki.org. Often time debunkers will utilize those early mishaps to taint what he does today as sheer intellectual fraud. There is a lot at stake with this subject so please avail yourself of both skeptical and pro-Ancient Alien websites.

As Von Daniken was quick to point out in the premiere episode, Chariots, Gods & Beyond there are two main types of evidence which support what has been called the Ancient Astronaut theory. 1) Religious Texts-Whether it is Egyptian Hieroglyphics, the Bible, Sanskrit Texts of India or the Jewish Zohar or the Dogon tribe of Mali, all refer to Gods in real physical form. Many offer detailed accounts of interactions with these beings from beyond. This is a commonality which is difficult for some to believe, but it can't be ignored. Von Daniken and a new cast of researchers and explorers add to what he offers.

Those joining in this special quest have quite a list of investigative and written accomplishments among them. It is likely this would all be pretty new if you attended any conventional institutions today as they actively dismiss what is believed to be speculation on this subject. So I guess you'll just be left with the vagaries of evolution.

The man behind getting this produced by Prometheus Entertainment is Giorgio Tsoukalos. While he features prominently in all the episodes, he speaks five languages and has scoured the globe in search of the evidence of Ancient Aliens. As the Consulting Producer on the Ancient Aliens he projects a good enthusiasm and knowledge for the task at hand. Tsoukalos is also the publisher of Legendary Times Magazine, the only journal exclusively dedicated to the topic of Ancient Aliens.

Graham Hancock, Author of Fingerprints of the Gods and other books exploring mankind's ignored history.

Robert Bauval-Born in Egypt to Belgian parents, he wrote the Orion Mystery, along with four other books exploring connections mankind has with the stars and planets. On of Bauvals first great achievements was to link the three pyramids in the belt of Orion.

Zecharia Sitchin-Author of a series of books claiming the area of Sumeria was visited by an off world species called the Annunaki. They developed the primates into humans to enhance their ability to serve them in mining the resources of Earth. The first prototype was called the Adami and there are Sumerian tablets that indicate the in fighting amongst what were regarded as Gods to make this happen. The Adami was created before the actual need and presented when production was faltering; it was all about genetic engineering tens of thousands of years ago. Of course the first man to be mentioned in the Bible was Adam this is only one of dozens of parallels to mythology around the globe in other cultures.

David Hatcher Childress: Author of the Lost City Series of books and the head of Adventures Unlimited Press (AUP) in Kempton, Illinois. David acts as a clearing house of the books written about this and related subjects. No doubt you could search for AUP and ask him for a free catalogue to help unlock the many mysteries before us.

Christopher Dunn-With 45 years of engineering and machine background Dunn has pieced together a very plausible theory on the technology needed to build the pyramids. Wait until you hear how the ancient Egyptians used a thirty-five foot saw to cut the blocks and how the great pyramid by creating hydrogen may have used as a power plant to transmit microwave energy. His first book the Giza Power Plant should get you started.

Among the others making their appearance on Ancient Aliens are: Astronaut Buzz Aldrin, Bill Birnes the host of UFO Hunters, Michael Cremo-Author of Forbidden Archaeology, Linda Moulton Howe, UFO author and investigator, George Noory-radio talk-show host, Dr. Steve Greer, Dr. Robert Schoch, Dr. Uwe Apel and Rodney Dale.

Curiosity is a big driver with any intelligent species and scientists and skeptics who honestly tackle this enigma have been known to have a reversal of opinion. The story of NASA Propulsion Scientist Joseph Blumerich is such a tale. Blumerich was attempting to disprove that the description given in the Biblical tale of Ezekiel was something other than a spaceship. Following several years, Blumerich did a complete turn about, admitted this could not be anything but an ancient description of a spaceship and wrote Spaceships of Ezekiel.

On April 27, 2010 the Ancient Aliens episode was called The Visitors. The story of the Dogon tribe of Mali and how a God named Amma gave them their knowledge of the stars, in particular Sirius, known as the Dog Star. British author Robert Temple, explored the detailed knowledge the tribe had of this dual star system and the dark star in the system which is a Neutron Star. As described by the Dogon who keep their story; this star, which they could not see, was said to have a very peculiar weight. The Dogon were told a small basket of what that star was made up of weighed as much as all of the donkeys, elephants, animals and people in the whole world. If one checks your basic astronomical texts, once all the electrons, protons, quarks etc. depart a neutron star there is no space in between. The joining of all the neutrons gets you an unbelievable density. According my college Astronomy text, one tablespoon of a neutron star could weigh 100,000 tons.

Ancient Aliens cites as evidence of visitation the massive stone structures around the world, sculpted figures depicting men in what appears to be elaborate mechanical suits, possibly space suits. Drawings on stone walls, in caves are compared around the world for similarity. Photos of Sego Canyon in Utah show a very unusual looking family type portrait, which conventional teaching says is symbolic of shamanistic influence. The drawings of the large round eyeless creatures are compared to other very similar petroglyphs in other areas of the world. If you get a chance while going down I-70 North near Moab, Utah follow the signs to Sego Canyon. Sadly, some lower level human primates have decided to monkey these rare finds with graffiti, tell those who are visiting to do the right thing.

For many of us we have only been shown two accepted theories for the top reality spot to answer the question of just how we came to be her on Earth. The Ancient Alien theory is gaining a lot of momentum. The ratings, sales of books and people attending meetings and conferences demonstrate that people are becoming increasingly open to this idea.

The third show was on May 4^th, 2010, entitled The Mission. This episode opened up the evidence for the Annunaki and what they were doing here. There is also a timely tie in to the thirteen Crystal Skulls and their assemblage in December of 2012 for an important, rather, mystic purpose. While their existence is known, they are in all parts of the globe and whether or not they all come together then would only be known to a handful of folks. Perhaps this would be another show for the future.

The fourth show on May 18^th, 2010 entitled Closer Encounters brought up very unique information including research in the sea logs of Christopher Columbus who claimed to have seen a UFO emerge from the sea and take to the sky. As sightings in ancient times became part of the fabric of the culture and art, even the Black Plague which may have killed up to half of the population of Europe had a UFO sighting involved. Large Cylindrical aerial ships were said to have been seen before the plague broke out. Other reports acknowledge groups of people dressed all in black carrying an instrument, resembling a cutting tool but being used to spray something in the air. Those familiar with that mythological figure known as the Grim Reaper will find it easy to see the genesis of this figure here. As there are very few texts that speak of these creatures it has been largely discarded from conventional history.

In this episode there was also a discussion of notes found written by the founding fathers of America. In these notes it was claimed they recognized life on other planets and found it a mark of stupidity that one would not be able to come to such a conclusion.

The last episode of the early 2010 series was called The Return. The UFO encounters around the Los Angeles area in 1942, Foo Fighters in the European war theatre and the crash and retrieval of a disc in Roswell, New Mexico in July 1947 are examined.

The lesser known crash of a disc in it was interesting this segment noted a crash of a disc in the Black Forest near Freiborg, Germany in 1936 is brought up. There is an inference that technology gleaned from this return might have speeded the Nazi's technological capabilities. There is also another interesting story about how the 1951 movie, The Day the Earth Stood Still was actually inspired by this crash and a similar demonstration of power was given to Hitler as a city in Germany was cutoff from power for several minutes. One of the devices rumoured to have been frantically worked on near the end of WWII by Hitler's scientists was a device called the Motorstopmittel. Translated to Engine Stop Agent, it was to be targeted at aircraft and oncoming tanks. Although evidence of such a devastating weapon getting used is non-existent, could it have been inspired in 1936?

While such a theory may sound bizarre to those with conventional educations or religious backgrounds there is a very discernable growing group of people who no longer are part of the Evolution vs. Creationism debate. These people are opting for that third explanation.

Ancient Aliens offers many plausible answers. It could be the technology behind the Great Pyramids, in particular the biggest one on the Giza Plateau. Courtesy of Authors Christopher Dunn and David Hatcher Childress, the existence of ancient technology is given a boost as they travel worldwide searching for sites in which megalithic stone blocks weighing hundreds even thousands of tons were carved and moved with precision. In fact, according to Dunn, author of the Giza Power Plant, there are numerous machine marks on stones and sculptures all over Egypt.

Dunn demolishes the idea that Egyptians were using primitive tools to construct the pyramids. In the episode called Evidence, Dunn cites the mainstream archaeological idea that all this construction was done without the use of iron, wheels, levy or pulley. What Dunn postulates is based on evidence at the site in Giza, in an area of several deep pits which the conventional belief is that they were pits to allow ships to approach with the stones, Dunn says they were pits for massive mechanical saws perhaps thirty-five feet in diameter. The timeline of construction and actual machine tooling marks on the stones seems to support this idea. Did they get this idea from Aliens?

Worldwide, there are other sites that exhibit the same machining characteristics into very large blocks. Puma Punka in Bolivia is one such place. Since the time frame for moving in place around 2.5 million blocks in the Giza Plateau is believed to be around twenty years you would not only have to move them quickly but to the exacting specifications needed to fit. Dunn believes machining them on the spot is the only rational answer.

The idea that stone masons today would have difficulty replicating many of those ancient projects usually rings true with many. However, it would be a good idea to visit a large competent granite company before saying how much difficulty it would involve. Sure, moving stones like the one-thousand ton carved stone in Baalbak, Turkey would be nearly impossible even today, but carving granite can be done. Following a visit to the Elberton Granite Company in Elberton Georgia in 2001, I found they had manufactured massive Georgia Guidestones with the ten instructions in eight languages for the future of mankind. The tracks for intervention from very human appearing beings from elsewhere are all throughout history in ancient texts, scriptures and mythological stories from nearly every culture. How these are being interpreted are part of the problem according to the shows many experts.

Graham Hancock and Robert Bauval, both authors of many cutting edge books on suppressed history discuss what they have discovered. Hancock cites both the Piris Reis and Oronteus Finius Maps which show parts of the planet before the last ice age and might have been used by open ocean navigators to get past that flat earth seablock. In one episode of the show an ancient writing by Christopher Columbus is offered as evidence of his seeing a UFO coming out of the sea and ascending very quickly towards the sky. Columbus said the light looked like a Minora, a Jewish symbol. This was reported to those conducting the Spanish Inquisition which is likely why Columbus kept his mouth shut later.

Overall, history, art and ancient archaeological sites are offered in abundance and sewn together in a stunningly convincing picture. We are not the first and they may come back or they might even still be here, deep in our oceans or many miles underground.

What appears to be happening again for sure is that the History Channel has opted for the production of a new Ancient Aliens Series, stay tuned.
