An ebony man
looked into the sky
one night.
He wondered how the sky
had become as deeply pitch
as his skin.
And he wondered how
the stars got there.
looked into the sky
one night.
He wondered how the sky
had become as deeply pitch
as his skin.
And he wondered how
the stars got there.
Then a star
fell across the ebony sky
contained in his heart,
and he knew that God
had lit the sparkles
in the night sky.
