And You Call Yourself a Christian

But you wish death upon your fellow man

And you call yourself a good person

But you don't want me to have the same opportunities in life as you

And you call yourself worthy

But you hate me without knowing me

Because my eyes are different

Or my hair is a different texture

Or the color of my skin is a darker shade than yours

and you call yourself RIGHT, but there is so much wrong with that

you sit in your houses of worship on Sunday

and you listen to your preachers speak

about acceptance and tolerance

but you have none

the only people you care about are people who look like you

and sound like you and act just like you

and want the same things that you want

There is nothing accepting or tolerant about that

Then you go home and spout nonsense

about how great you are and what you want for the world

and what you want for your children complete with all of life's advantages

but you don't want the same for your children's friends

or maybe it's that you want all your children's friends to be alike

with the same needs and goals

but the cookie cutter world you only think you've been living in doesn't exist

because my President is black

and my friends of all different races, colors, and creeds and I

are here to tell you that we are not going to stand by any longer

and listen to you speak your hate

and we are not going to let you keep us down

We are entitled to the same freedoms and rights as you

And we will fight to see that we get them

And when we hear you telling lies

We will stop you by speaking the truth

Louder than any lie you could ever tell

And we won't need to use violence

Because those of us who are LEFT in this world

Know that we truly are what's right.
