And Her Name was Cyndi

Steve Helmer

I fell in love with her eleven years ago, give or take a day

on our first date together in the commonwealth of PA.

She drew me in with her soft green eyes and lips that said "kiss me."

And her name was Cyndi

Being a shy man myself, I wasn't used to the attention

I got whenever every head turned in our direction.

When she held my hand, every man (and some women) would be filled with jealousy.

And her name was Cyndi.

For the first time in my life, when I heard a love song

on the radio, I wanted to sing along.

I wasted no time giving her a ring because I wanted her to only be with me.

And her name was Cyndi.

More than a decade has passed and she's still my wife.

We've had our ups and downs, but she's still the one I want in my life.

She still inspires me to be the best man I can be.

And her name is Cyndi.
