And Here's Another Thing:Thoughts Of a Future President/Emperor

Bill Field
A few more thoughts thrown out there for those of you who care to listen. Those of you who don't care to listen, and you know who you are, are free to pay no attention whatsoever to my rantings. I'm used to it.

I'm a small business owner. A very small, almost miniscule, business owner. Joe the Plumber wants to be a small business owner. John McCain and Sarah Palin value Joe the Plumber's valuable insight into the plight of the small business owner, as they will tell you at every campaign stop in "real America". So, all you other small business owners out there. what hotel did you and your family stay at when you were making the media rounds in New York? You did go on a whirlwind media tour in the heartland of "real America" known as New York City, didn't you? Didn't you? C'mon, Joe and Josephine Backbone of America. How else do you expect to show those Hollywood Elite and East Coast liberals how much damage Obama will do to our small business interests if you don't trot yourselves out there to the...the.....the liberal media....outlets...to....to.....Oh, never mind.

If the Democrats control the House and the Senate, and they authorize a military pay raise that is higher than the raise requested by the Republican White House, then how come people believe the Republicans support the troops more than the Democrats? Call me crazy, but if the Commander-In-Chief tells me to go shoot at people who are shooting at me, then gets chintzy with me, I'm not going to be feeling the love from the Commander-In-Chief.

Why do civilians back here in "real America" believe the information fed to them by one and two star generals who work in public relations and information dissemination? Is it because they're wearing the uniforms that make it look like they just stepped out of the Stryker or off the Black Hawk after leading the troops to a satisfying victory? I'm a veteran. We had no use for those guys, and women, with the shiny collar jewelry, standing in front of the camera. You know why? The closest any of those generals ever came to doing what the real troops are doing is when they were surrounded by a squad, platoon, or battalion of real troops providing security while they traipse through the neighborhood in the aftermath of the real action, conducting photo ops and putting in paperwork to award themselves another medal or two while stiffing the real heroes doing the real work on the President's orders. The real heroes just want to get back, clean gear, catch a z, and write an E-mail home. Before the generals stepped in front of the cameras and the reporters to give a briefing, they were getting their hair and faces touched up while reading copy provided to them by some overworked, underpaid E-3, E-4, or E-5. And if you don't know what those are, then don't even try pretending you know what you're talking about when you talk about the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. You don't have a clue. You don't have a clue about anything related to any troops.

To all those "Obama and the Democrats are Communists, so vote Republican" crowd, you do realize that fealty to Party was a requirement in the Communist Party, don't you? You do realize that the people in power enforced submission to the Party, before loyalty to country, don't you? You do realize that "Party First, all else second" was more than just a slogan, don't you? You do realize that your "vote Republican or you're a traitor" sounds an awful lot like "if you are not a member of the Communist Party, then you are a traitor to the Soviet Union" crap spewed from the mouths of Lenin, Stalin, Dzerzhinski, and chums, don't you? You do realize that President Bush, leader of the Republican Party, looked into Vladimir Putin's eyes and saw a kindred soul, don't you? You do realize that Vladimir Putin was once a high muckety-muck in the KGB, don't you? You do realize that the KGB was the Sword and Shield of the Soviet Communist Party, don't you? Not the Sword and Shield of the Soviet Union, but the Sword and Shield of the Communist Party, whose members ran the Soviet Union. So which Party sounds a lot like the Communist Party? Hmmmmm. For the record, I have always refused to register with a particular party, but my voting preferences have leaned to the Libertarian side over the years. And don't even try to tell me that the Republican Party ideals are closer to the Libertarian ideals than the Democratic Party ideals are. I hiccup when I laugh too hard. Both parties stand far away from the Libertarian ideals of our Founding Fathers.

Speaking of laughing hard, did anybody else chuckle when John McCain, the son of a Navy admiral, veteran of more than twenty years in the House and the Senate, owner of seven luxury houses and many millions of dollars, and one of the wealthiest members of the Senate, described himself as the "guardian of the middle class"? I like John McCain, but trust me, he doesn't understand the middle class any better than Barack Obama does. And none of the top advisors to either one of these two candidates knows what it means to be middle class. They just know how to write catch phrases to get the middle class to vote for them. And the middle class keeps falling for it. There I go. I'm hiccuping again.

And just to start the laughter again, I'm not saying that Ted Stevens of Alaska committed a crime. I'm just saying that the guy watched his house double in size, but didn't notice that his bank account stayed the same? Do you really want this guy looking out for your tax dollars? Really? And if Sarah Palin is convinced that she can see Russia from her back yard, I gotta wonder what the folks up in Alaska are smoking. Do we really want our oil dollars funding that kind of behavior? I'm just asking.

Stay tuned for more rantings and ravings. I got a million of 'em. You just wait and see. Vote for me, Bill Field, for President/Emperor. Just do as I say and see where that gets you.
